Really though do people really think its going to go for that much or is it just wishful thinking and hype because of the FS and MM Iron Mans?

Also I guess Im the only one not smitten with the artwork on the Irons Mans. I think its just ok, nothing special.

Amen to that brutha. Its a nice looking steel to be sure, but the popularity of this play.com release is due to FS being the king of steels, I'm sure of it. How else can you explain the hype, when the artwork is exactly identical to the amaray release? I've been saying all along to buy it because you like it, not because it will be the second comming of FS IM. This so reminds me of the hype when Target' IM 2 (limited to 30,000 lol) came out, and it sold like carzy. Look where it is today.

Thing is just for the fun of it I was looking at some posters and pics for the Iron Man movies and there is plenty of great art out there that they could use to make a new steel that was just as good, but different then a rehash of what is already out there.

.... that's a horrible run on sentence by the way I apologize for that.

Ghostrider Futureshop (3D With exclusive Vengeance Vehicles Disc) - Despite the similarities with the Bestbuy US pre-order, this Futureshop exclusive boast more of a "all-in-one" packaged to the collectors together with the "Spirit Of Vengeance" Disc.

Bestbuy Wrath Of The Titans 3D & Futureshop Wrath Of The Titans - It is the 2nd time a G2 print differs between US and Canada (The first was WB's/Bestbuy LOTR Trilogy preorder vs Alliance Futureshop LOTR Trilogy).

Bestbuy Safe House G1 Steel - It might be G1 but the mass effect of it sold out got quite fast.

Bestbuy WB Wave - Hangover 1 - Simply putting it, the baby front art Rocks!

I say, too much overhype with the Iron Man Play.com exclusive - in fairness to the UK folks, they have waited 4 yrs (which I think #1 reason why it went sold out) in comparison from the top dog in Steelbooks "Iron Man" Futureshop Steelbook. It may reach milestone price but on the long run it will depreciate given that its a 2nd fiddle from the FS exclusive. My main advise - to thsoe who checks the e-bay listings - The one with Blu-Ray Border on top still holds the Top Of The Line :) in price value!:oohyeah:

RE Quad broke the $100 barrier today. Winning bid was for 66 GBP or $102 USD. This title, released just over 1 month ago already broke the $100 as I've predicted. Forget about "the end of 2012".

Well it cost me around £55 to get this on a group buy, doesnt take much for it to hit $100 :hilarious:

My question is...why? Why are these trilogy/quad packs for movies that have individual releases so sought after? Is shelf space that much of an issue?

What blows my mind even more is how these will be outdated in a couple of months anyways. There's at least two more movies in the pipeline

Do not diminish my predictions. This thread asked which will exceed $100, no one but me picked RE Quad. I'm still waiting for the Play.com IM's to be release to see how your great pick turns out. I'll be honest with you, I'm not expecting much.

All has to do with rarity my friend. RE Quad has a production release of 3000 units, which is extremely rare (on par with T2 Black). Most importantly, it did not flood ebay, as matter of fact it took almost a month before you even see 1 up for bid in ebay. This was truly rare, unlike some other hyped titles.

Here's my prediction for a steel to go over the $100 mark by the end of 2012. I predict the Star Trek TNG Season 1 will hit over $100 considering it cost 70 euros + shipping to order. Easy predictions for over $100 :hilarious:

You should judge it more by the ratio and percentage the steel has increased. IM has already increased by roughly 300% in value considering it cost £11 to order, it has approached the £40 range.

RE Quad cost me about £55 to get. So it has gone up £11 which is about 20% of its value. Interesting calculations :hilarious:

Not very rare is it, available amazon.de for 67 euros plus 7 euros flat rate shipping to the UK. Interesting choice of 'rarity' stevo.

Hehe, you're a real funny guy, so let me just get this strait. Basically, you're saying that RE Quad is such an "obvious" pick, that no one else, including yourself didn't predicted it. Is that what you're saying? If you, and no one else predicted it, then how "obvious" can it be? You see the paradox here my friend? Its either "so obvious", that only 1 guy got it right, or it's just so damn obvious that everyone else got it wrong. So tell? how obvious was it again?

This thread does not ask which steel will exceed $100. The thread asks:

No one else picked this except for you lol. It appears your the only one unless anyone else wants to come forward. From what you explained to me RE Quad has gone up £11 since release date. Thank you for your analysis. Iron Man has gone up roughly £25-£30.

Your analysis is irrelevent, just like your post on P6 of this very thread where you gave your "analysis" why RE Quad will not reach $100 by the end of 2012. You seem think that the starting price of RE Quad has something to do with it going to $100 so fast, I do not share that opinion. I personally think it could have retailed for 30 Euros, and still reach $100 by the end of 2012, it's the rarity, not the starting price that counts.

You keep on referring to sites like Amazon.de, which is also irrelevant. I've told you once, I'll tell you again, sites like ebay.uk and Amazon.de DOES NOT reflect whats going on globally. Only ebay.com can stake that claim, and the people have spoken, and bid this great steel over $100 in roughly 1 months release time. Theres no more justification you can give why it went over $100, the people have spoken.

Rest assured, if you want to see which steel will rise the most by the end of 2012? you pick IM?...... I'll see you right here at the end of the year, see who wins. BTW, nice pick, IM! You really went out on a lim on that one!

[Bestbuy Safe House G1 Steel - It might be G1 but the mass effect of it sold out got quite fast.

:

I say put the crack pipe down. If anything replace that G1 release with Breaking Dawn. It has the hype, the cult following and the most intense embossing on any steel to date and the fact copies were being bought for $100 on ebay that morning. I watched it happen.

Also the fact a supperior G2 version of the same artwork will not cause it to rise in value. If you have a G2 steelbook and a G1 steelbook with the exact same artwork the G2 is ALWAYS going to be the more valuable one. Thats just the way it is.

Am I the only one, who when reading Stevo's posts, hear the comic book guy from the simpsons? :hilarious:

I don't watch the Simpsons. Is this a bad attempt at humor?

no, it's a rather accurate portrayal of your recent posts in this thread. sunnyx brings up valid points about the actual increase of value in steelbooks and you continue with an argument of, "no, I know more than you."

hopefully this will help you understand...
Person A buys a stock share in company X when it's valued at $10.
Person B buys a stock share in company Y when it's valued at $80.
The value of company X quadruples in value and is now worth $40.
The value of company Y sees an increase of $20 and is now worth $100.
Person B argues that company Y has been more successful in 2012 because Y is now worth $100 while company X is only worth $40.
Person B doesn't understand that Person A's investment has been far more successful.
