Here's your dedicated thread to theorize and speculate about 2012 releases and their value at the end of 2012. Have fun!

Please post the title and the price you think it will be by 12/31/2012. 7+ months to discuss.

:D

Real Steel Blufans edition. It has a head start over Terminator Play.com edition. Because it's such a limited run I think it will reach over $140 by the end of 2012.

DB, you didn't specify from whether it's just steelbooks released in 2012 or all steelbooks released, what will be the highest valued one at the end of 2012. Anyways, I answered for which steelbook released in 2012 will reach the highest dollar value by the end of 2012.

MI ghost recon, seeing as there are only about 4 copies in existence that are not bent and dinged.
i dont think the other play ones will inflate tbh, too many released in 1 day.
lifeboat will probably rise, depends how many copies of jaws are printed too.

If we're talking about steelbooks which are released in 2012, then I reckon most of the Play.com exclusives will shoot up in price after release... by how much, I don't even want to guess lol. If I were to pick just 1 or 2, then I think both Chronicle and Terminator might become quite rare/sought after. ;)

Good idea for a thread by the way!

Ya know, Farewell my concubine may rise up if it looks at good as it does in the original post. Plus, it's supposed to come with some kind of a gift which would increase it's value. There are no other steels out there for that movie, unlike Real Steel. I could see Farewell rising quite a bit.

The Dark Knight Futureshop (Dark Knight Rises, will make this popular. :) )

I would think so too, but the re-release look almost exactly the same and it matches the Batman Begin Canadian release better too, so I am not so sure if the original Future Shop release will rise a lot after Rises (wow, that was fun to type out :naughty: ).

well if its the only one of its kind and theres only 4k,£75-100.

What do you think it will be?

I don't think about values of Steels at all to tell you the truth (unless of course I am trying to find one).

But I could see it at least tripling or more if 1) it sells out completely which I think it will and 2) if Embossing/Debossing/Inside art continues to be a unique feature of the Steel. Czech announced the same cover, but per Wreck the UK one still be unique. :ohno:

From 2012, I predict:

* Steelbooks:
- Blufans.com: Farewell My Concubine;
- Play.com (Terminator, Alien Anthology, Wolverine, Predator & The Incredible Hulk - 2008)

* Viva:
- Blufans.com: Real Steel
- FS: Avengers

I think HOP will go up in price...especially when people disregard it...then it suddenly disappears from the store...hehehe! Maybe The Thing (France)...
