Here's your dedicated thread to theorize and speculate about 2012 releases and their value at the end of 2012. Have fun!

Please post the title and the price you think it will be by 12/31/2012. 7+ months to discuss.

I have come to like the Viva Metal Boxes, and as long as say, Future Shop, don't get too greedy with their Disney releases (John Carter is a very limited release) I believe that they will go up to $70 - $80 in a short time. Also the Tron: Legacy VMB from Australia is almost completely sold out at retailers, and it is a beautiful Viva.

yup agreed. Ive almost bought that Tron VMB from AUS a few times but for no back or inside art I just couldn't justify the price even though the front art is AMAZING!

My predictions are:

Immortals (UK) - already OOS
Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (while not a steelbook, I have an odd feeling about this one and not just becuase I own one :hilarious:)
Terminatory and MI4 (possibly)

If Jurassic Park doesn't get a release anywhere but the Czech Republic, that one could skyrocket. It's already £34 to import it just at retail price.

I was told none will be exclusive to CZ ; and I doubt it'll just be a NL wave ... I'm guessing some other player will come to the table. Who knows, the way MM/Saturn etc love to spring stuff on us without early announcements ( like .de does) maybe they'll show up there.

Faster DE (so long as Alliance CA never does a version) should be the big daddy this year. Faster and Warrior, are two movies that most people havent seen, but if they watch em' - o' man will they want the steelbooks ;)

There are many factors that will determine the value of Steelbooks after they are OOS and OOP.

The title/film itself, supply & demand, is it a Scanavo steelbook or other metal packaging, is it region-free or locked, printed art work or stickerbook, numbered, details, embossing/debossing, cover/inside/disc art, special packaging, extras, collectable trinkets, PQ AQ & transfer quality, special features, etc.

And the one that gets the speculators worked up... is the release a low production quanity? The lower the better.

If there's another FS Iron Man, you'll see it a mile away. ;)

Seriously, I'm pretty sure any limited release from Blufans... Farewell, RealSteel, etc...

Very difficult to get hold of and I'm chasing for 2 copies, one to open, one to keep. It's weird but I love the film.
