I thought Dano had it in the bag, but I was still happy to see Stallone finally win one.

Has he won one before? I know he was nominated for Rocky, but didn't win. I'll probably withdraw my previous statement once I know the other nominees anyway... I'm sure there'll be someone else in that category I'd rather see win lol.

Well he wasn't a direct winner but rocky won 3 oscars and it's his baby. He wrote and starred as the main plus I wouldn't be surprised if he directed a bit of it or heavily involved. So the way I see it rocky winning was stallones win.
I've heard he's good in creed but I doubt he deserves a globe or Oscar especially over Dano.
Loved love & mercy.
Actually I thought cussack would be nominated. He was also incredible and deserves a win for it

Ah, I see your point. To be honest, his performance in Creed was nothing outstanding... I'm surprised he was even nominated, but this is probably his last chance to even come close to winning an Oscar, whereas Dano will probably have many in his career. Love & Mercy was definitely the better film IMO, and even though I've never been a big fan of Cussack, I'm also surprised to see he hasn't at least been nominated.
