Rocksteady is rumoured to be working on a Batman prequel based on the Silver Age of DC’s comic books from the 1950s.

According to Variety, the game will focus on Batman’s first meeting with The Joker. It will be influenced by the 1950s comic books, which saw Batman teaming up with the likes and Superman and Wonder Woman.

There has been no official word from Warner Bros. or Rocksteady but it does make sense, especially with Warner Bros reportedly looking to make a Justice League movie.

Warner Bros wants in on the success that Marvel had with The Avengers, which has already earned $1.5 billion at the boxoffice and will earn even more from licensed merchandise.

If the rumours turn out to be true, this new Batman game probably won’t be released until 2014.
