From FS.net:
Variety has word that Disney is developing a sequel to Tim Burton's take on the classic tale that featured Mia Wasikowska as the title character, but advertised Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter like nobody's business. Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King writer Linda Woolverton will script the sequel for Disney (she most recently wrote Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie).

For a movie that made more than $1 billion, it's no surprise...

Disney's Alice In Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass begins principal photography this week, featuring an award-winning production team and all-star ensemble cast, including Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen. James Bobin (The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted) helms the film, which revisits Lewis Carroll's beloved stories with an all-new new tale that travels back to Underland - and back in Time.

Alice In Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass is produced by Joe Roth (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland), Jennifer Todd (Alice In Wonderland, Memento), Suzanne Todd (Alice In Wonderland, Memento) and Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, Frankenweenie). John G. Scotti (Muppets Most Wanted, The Muppets) is the executive producer; Linda Woolverton (Maleficent, Alice In Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast) penned the screenplay. Shooting on location and at Shepperton Studios in England, the film is slated for release on May 27, 2016.

The all-star ensemble cast includes Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Hatter Tarrant Hightopp, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Mirana, Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsleigh, who's on a quest to help the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Iracebeth, Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp, the Mad Hatter's father, Matt Lucas as both Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Ed Speleers as James Harcourt, and Sacha Baron Cohen as Time.

Also starring are Stephen Fry as the voice of Cheshire Cat, Toby Jones as the voice of Wilkins, Alan Rickman as the voice of the Blue Caterpillar, Michael Sheen as the voice of the White Rabbit, Timothy Spall as the voice of Bayard, Paul Whitehouse as the March Hare, and Barbara Windsor as the voice of Dormouse.

Alice In Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass again will feature a score by Danny Eflman, costumes by Colleen Atwood, and visual effects by VFX supervisor Ken Ralston.

Bobin's award-winning production team also includes production designer Dan Hennah and Stuart Dryburgh as director of photography. The film welcomes make-up and hair designer Peter King and Neil Corbould is special effects supervisor. Andrew Weisblum is editor.

For a second there- I thought it said Directed by James Brolin.
And I thought to myself- "Good for you, James Brolin. Don't just be happy being Barbara Streisand's houseboy. You go, James Brolin."
But, alas, no...

So excited Alice in wonderland is one of, if not my favourite Disney film and I loved the Johnny Depp version so can't wait for the sequel :)
