So it seems that Nuclear Blast will be releasing the new live Testament album as a limited edition steelbook. I've heard it'll only be released in the UK and Europe, so no idea if/when it'll be released in the US. No idea on print run but I'd hazard a guess at 4k. Any Testament fans here? :scat:

That's pretty cool, I would love to see more concert Blu-rays get Steelbooks. I know Iron Maiden released their last release En Vivo! in a DVD Steelbook, so this was the logical step.

In my early metal days I listened to Testament, but I'm no fan.

But like I said in the Stone Roses thread, I think it's cool that they are releasing band/music documentaries and concerts steelbooks. More please!

Yep. I was pretty annoyed that only the DVD came in a steelbook and not the blu-ray. Then again Maiden have been making silly decisions like this for years now (but that's another story/thread entirely).

Just hope this release is a true Blu-ray. The recent Iced Earth blu-ray looked pretty poor, I'd even say it looked upscaled.

Dark Roots of Thrash (Bonus Blu-ray)*[CD+Blu-Ray, Limited Edition, Box Set]

Hopefully amazon will update the title to include steelbook

I think it is upscaled. It looks like they had some trouble with the video files and they even considered not releasing it due to the quality not being what they wanted, so they put up a poll to ask the fans if they wanted it released like this anyway and so they chose it.

Schafer says that for the next one they'll make sure everything is ok and that they'll not release it if it doesn't meet their expectations.

I was annoyed too, it was a pretty strange decision. That said with the number of concert DVDs/Blu-rays they put out, it's only a matter of time before they release one in Steelbook form.

As for upscaled Blu-rays, Eagle Rock have started doing those. I haven't watched any so I don't know if they're worth upgrading DVDs though I guess it should still be the best it will ever look.

Anyway, Nuclear Blast do have some great bands on their label, so I hope this is the first of many. It would be great to see something by Avantasia.

I've never listened to Testament, but its great to see them get some steelbook treatment.

He'll yes to some Maiden steels though! :scat:

I am so happy with this.......I would love to see some classic Maiden stuff on Bluray Steelbook, Eddie on the cover would be goddam unreal :scat::scat::scat:

Wow... never saw rock concert in shape of steelbook before... I used to listen to Testament though... so probably gonna get one of these... now looking forward for Metallica's Through the Never on steel, any possibility? :)

Nooow we're talking. I have loved this band since i first heard them in the early 90's. Their 1999 disc "The Gathering" - with Slayer's Dave Lombardo on drums - is the finest thrash metal album i have ever heard.

I will purchase a region free Blu-ray player for this, if that's what it takes to watch it.

I also noticed that Amazon have a Dvd SteelBook version of this listed as well. Why didn't the publisher simply include the Dvd in with the Blu-Ray in a single edition?

Also, could possibly be the last Dvd SteelBook released in the UK, taking the title away from Red Dwarf X

Here's the an official video of a song from the concert release for those who don't know what Testament are about:

I think I would have preferred the new Sabaton live release to get a Steelbook instead. Nevermind. Hopefully this will lead to more concert Blu-rays getting Steelbooks :scat:

Goddamn, I hate when live music releases have like 10 camera angles that they just have to show every split second. Hope the whole show isn't edited as bad as that. Sounds killer though so at least the audio is done right.
