choice between a steelbook from UK, or a rather over-priced region A disc in an amaray case ---> i'd go for the first one. ;)

Hahaha, you make it sound so bad ;)
I collect a lot of Shout Factory titles just like Arrow, plus all the extras on the SF release will be so much better, and the artwork will be amazing so for me it kinda makes sense ;)

If the artwork on this turns out to be something like the art theusher posted then i will be all over it :scat:

Only thing putting me off is that it's just bare metal like the Seven Samurai one. If that's the case I might just wait 'til July and stick to the boxset! BTW that boxset is #1 purchase of the year in my opinion. Artificial Eye would have to release a Tarkovsky to beat it.

I'd much rather it was black than silver.

Yeah same, but at least it will make my decision to cancel easier. I'm definitely expecting it to have the same discs/booklet as the boxset, so the only thing going for it would be the cover art. I reckon it'll look a bit like those recent Ghibli steels if I'm honest. Saying that, the Seven Samurai one isn't as bad as some people have made it out to be.

The Shout Factory one will feature much better special features than the UK one will do..... I know which one I'd choose and it's not the steelbook ;)

Well that's not set in stone. It won't be a collector's edition and I'd be surprised if they got any new extras with Herzog, Adjani or Ganz. Unfortunately, the BFI edition does not appear to have the Herzog commentary from the old Anchor Bay DVD. This Shout might get.

It's all academic for me anyway, since I'll be buying the Herzog boxset BFI are putting out. :D

I buy Shout Factory releases and usually they have some Great extras

So far we don't have any details on what the extras are on the Shout Factory Release

I have placed a Pre Order for the UK BFI Steelbook

If the Shout Factory version has something in extras that are way better I will consider this over the BFI Version
For now I have gone with the BFI as its a steelbook for starters
