whats the point. The UK one is superb and the pressing is superb as are the extras. It's unlikely the German one will beat it.

Because Germans might just want to pop into their local Saturn or Media Markt and pick it up? Because it has German text on it? Because German will be the default language (did the MoC version even have German as an option)?
Simply because there's money to be made from domestic releases. Not everyone bothers to import no matter how easy it might sometimes be. I prefer the FS/BB version of Thor: The Dark World, but it was frankly easier to just order the Zavvi version so that's what I did.
The same titles are released all the time, sometimes they're identical to previous releases, sometimes they're not. Everyone just has to decide which is the version for them, be it based on price, design, finish or disc count.
I love Silent Running, and the MoC release is great so I wouldn't upgrade or collect more than one version. Blade Runner on the other hand...
Well said Bear. It's like people beating up on the UK release of the last stand - well can't we have one as well lol - lot's of folk like their own language on the steelbook or don't like to import and pay extra shipping, so it's pretty selfish to proclaim it's pointless.
Shame about the inner art and lack of booklet though. In this case our German friends might be better off going for the UK release as that has some wonderfully colourful inside artwork.
