Thanks.
Yeah - it is NOT a TRINITY western comedy sequel! The cover makes this look like fun-fun western. But it's not.
I always remember the mass shooting/execution scene.
A Fistful of Dynamite was UK titleThanks.
Underrated film. It's great. Kinda wish they used the real title "Duck, You Sucker".
But, hopefully some Leone enthusiasts who didn't know about this film will get a chance to discover this gem.
I would pay GOOD MONEY - for a copy of DUCK YOUR HEAD, DUMBASS.A Fistful of Dynamite was UK title
Duck you sucker was used only in USA for a short period later was re issued using UK title A Fistful of Dynamite in USA
Italy title was Giù la testa and in France was Il était une fois... la révolution (Once Upon a Time in the Revolution)
Reason USA had title Duck You Sucker it was close translation of the Italian title Giù la testa, coglione! translated: to Duck Your Head, dumbass
United Artists in USA changed it to Duck you Sucker for obvious reasons
The use of the UK title in USA was to meant to recall the notoriety of A Fistful of Dollars and For A few Dollars More Films
USA title Duck You Sucker did not work that well at the USA box office but performed better when re released in the Cinemas as A Fistful of Dynamite
It's been that way since UK 2005 DVD releaseFYI "The most recent submission of the film to the BBFC has been cut by 6 seconds. It removes 2 shots of horse tripping."
There are a TON of old westerns they would be required to cut. It's been that way since UK 2005 DVD release
6 Seconds for horse falls was cut by the BBFC. Closeups of horse falls, during the "Bridge Ambush
UK criminal law of the land under the Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act 1937
Prohibition of films involving cruelty to animals
BBFC had to cut those 6 seconds under that law
Yes some films it's not been doneThere are a TON of old westerns they would be required to cut.
What did they do with Steer slaughter in Apocalypse Now?!Yes some films it's not been done
It applies when actual harm has happened or stress to animal can be suspected.
Fistfull of Dynamite it was dangerous horse fall reason as to why was cut.
Another Example
Abyss in UK is cut for example
The rat is being put in breathing liquid was removed. This scene wasn't done with a trick, the rat really breathed the liquid
Even though James Cameron has said rat wasn't hurt during the scene
BBFC had to cut it to comply with the Law as it is perceived rat is under stress
Some films no harm was done to animals as in CGI effects not actual harm or animals are trained stunt performers and did not get harmed.
There is some exclusions when it's allowed and law is in progress soon of adding some more exclusions.
Steer slaughter was exempt as that was going to happen it was not done for the film itselfWhat did they do with Steer slaughter in Apocalypse Now?!
Horse tripping was quite common in old westerns.Steer slaughter was exempt as that was going to happen it was not done for the film itself
The animal (a water buffalo, or carabao) was killed - but not for the film. The tribe in the film was a real indigenous tribe that lived in the area, and they had already decided to slaughter it. Coppola merely decided to film the event.
Real live events of killing of animals is one of the exclusions as you often see for example in documentaries as in not done on purpose.
thanks for that, @paulboland. it's confused me for years that i remember very clearly seeing The Abyss rat scene in full in the cinema on original release, but never since on home release!Yes some films it's not been done
