This and that Disney Classics thread have got me very happy about the future of UK steelbooks.

"A WHOLE NEW STEEEEEEEEEEL, don't you dare slash my spine"

I can show you the Steel
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your wallet decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic blu-ray ride

A whole new disc
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no or where to buy
Or say we're only dreaming

sorry couldn't resist :D

Me neither ... what's so incredibly special about this one?

It's practically part of a set. As many people have said before about not wanting to get into the Disney steel game this one is NEEDED to have a full set of Disney titles.

Add that to the fact it's a lowish print run an a fantastic film, people who don't even really want it are preordering in case they change their minds as it will have a good chance of raising in value and so making them have to pay more.

Great news in light of things....

First off .... this oversold ... over 300 orders would be cancelled ...

but ...

This has been increased to 5k (FINAL) and now no one's orders will be canceled.

Around 650 left that can be sold. (barring no cancellations)

Hats off to Zavvi for their faith and trust as not many retailers would share such info.

Many remember last year this happened with Play's Terminator as demand caused the increase to 5k.

GET YOUR ORDERS N IF YOU HAVEN'T AS THIS IS GOING TO SELL OUT SOON.

The barring no cancellations stands out to me.

Think about the amount of people who cancelled to use the discount code (that didnt work for me but hey oh) Even I cancelled to try, and I had 2 orders. Is this included already in remaining stock?

OR is this unknown until release day when remaining stock is sold when final numbers are confirmed??

Would it be wise to just 1 copy or order 2? Currently I have one on order but what worries me is if it will shipped in those envelopes or those days are long gone?

Zavvi now use boxes very similar to the ones Play used to ship steelbooks, so you shouldn't have to worry about getting a steel damaged in transit.

Hello to all
I know this does not belong here
But the packaging of play.com was much better than that of Zavvi
see the problems with the Roger Rabbit Steel

I was under the impression that it had been said that most of the damage suffered by the WFRR steels happened before they arrived at Zavvi's warehouse. I'm not saying that makes it acceptable, because it doesn't, but the packaging isn't really the issue.

FWIW, I've had two steels come from Zavvi in their new packaging, and both have arrived completely undamaged.

cancellations are calculated like almost automatically from what I recall .. if not then atleast daily ...

i would always order 2 copies on titles they getting sold out before release date...so many things can happen..arrived damaged, lost in shipping, order canceled and so on.

Ditto here, I've ordered at least five steel books from zavvi in the past month and all have arrived in a mint condition in there new " play.com" style packaging
