I am with you, I know Aladdin was not part of Disney's Diamond lineup and it almost seems like they under appreciate the title. Why? No clue, Aladdin is one of my favorite hand drawn Disney titles. I met one of the artist who used to hand draw for Disney, this was like 8 yrs ago. She told me some cool anecdotes about the production of Aladdin. Hand drawn still trumps CGI :p

I agree. Chuck and I like it old school style. CHUCKED

I never understood why Aladdin wasn't part of the Masterpiece collection.

I never understood the distinction between Disney's special editions, collector's editions, platinum editions and masterpiece editions. The Diamond Edition line (which they launched in time for Blu-Ray) just adds to the confusion. And anyone who's ever been a collector of the Walt Disney Treasures series (the one in the US, still the pride of my movie collection), have experienced how Disney loves to announce releases and then cancel them, and then finally announce them as barebone releases under a new name.

Truth is, some collector's editions are superior to som platinum editions etc. I don't really care what they choose to call Aladdin as long as it carries a decent amount of special features (let's hope Disney chooses to include previous DVD extras).

---

Walt Disney apparently didn't like Alice In Wonderland. Maybe that's why it only got the 'Masterpiece Edition' treatment? :naughty:

Best to keep that to yourself so!

Anyone tell me how good Zavvi have been getting new releases out in time for release date? Play's always used to arrive the Saturday before but as this is Zavvi I'm not holding my breath; Just recieved my first steel from them today which was posted Monday.. Not the quickest!

I've only had one pre-order steel from them, which was Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It arrived on the Friday before the release date. I know it's not a lot of data, but hopefully others could verify it with their own experiences.

I was going to keep 1 for opening and 1 sealed but im going to try and trade 1 for a Roger Rabbit missed that one :(

wow, that's what i get for avoiding threads where i think the film sucks LOL

...so wat did i miss guys? :movie:

Pretty much a bunch of talk about the quoted topics, with a healthy dose of indignation.

You don't like Aladdin? :tear:

^^ If it was closer to the original Arabian source material i'd probably be interested (a book called "101 Nights" or something?, and i think that's where the word "abarcadabra" comes from)

but nah, i dont really like musicals and Disney movies are essentially the cartoon equivalent.

yeah I cancelled this, not a big fan of the movie plus the steel doesn't look all that nice imo then the price is too much, I'l keep my money for only stuff I really have to get as there is far too much coming out this yr already

Well, looks like I missed out on this.was away from home last week, and never realised it was up for pre-order.tbh thought it would sell out quick, but not as quick as it did.my own fault though, for not checking the thread on here :(
