I don't know if you can really compare Battle Royale with Aladdin. More people will want Aladdin just because it's a Disney movie.

Yes but I guess that maybe 1-2k of the preorders are scalpers because they know the demand of a disney movie is and will be high. And of course at first there are people on ebay who are willing to pay their prices but there will be enough who will pass on this ebay prices and the price will eventually drop.

But that's all speculation. Only time will tell

If there are no other releases worldwide, the price will go only one way...Forget about eBay "scalpers" for the moment as it's available for pre-order.

You can't compare a cult Asian film with a Disney classic.

Battle Royale over time will go for a fortune in my opinion. The copies of it have already thinned out.

Why you think that? Pretty much every Disney steel to date has been an exclusive to the country it was released in. And by that I mean no exact design has had multi-country releases. This will remain a UK exclusive and if by the slim chance (imo) Aladdin comes out in another country, this will remain the most desired.

I'd say considering this ends up cheaper or matched to most disney blurays in the US. And its a collectible steelbook, I see no reason to pass this item up.

No chance. Disney has way more appeal than a cult Japanese film. The only hinderance to the sale of this is the release date. If it was released at the same time as the amaray it would probably sell even faster.

That's true a lot of scalpers have probably ordered huge numbers of this (I hope Zavvi clamp down as much as they can). As you say though the demand will be incredibly high because it's Disney and because it's a Steelbook.

No chance. Where else is Disney releasing Steelbools right now? They're not doing them anywhere they used to release Vivas and that German version of Finding Nemo doesn't seem to have sold well so a release there is looking unlikely. Until Zavvi came along Disney had seemingly abandoned Steelbooks except for The Avengers. Even if this did get released elsewhere, I'm sure it would not be as nice as this release and even if it was it is Disney, it will be incredibly popular and probably sell out too.

Apart from the consensus about the film's quality, you also have the fact that Cars 2 had lots of different releases, none of which were particularly nice. So yes a Worldwide exclusive of a Disney classic and a few lame releases of possibly Pixar's first failiure do not compare.

i bet we will see this year massive disney steels all over the world. the question is if they will have same artworks or not. wouldn't suprise me that much.
