any rerelease of the same movie decreases value of the original release. more if it's the same art, less if it's an other art and especially if it's something more "rare" in the eyes of collectors plus the commen deflation of steelbooks in general makes in decreasing in value cuz there are more than enough cheap steels out there to hunt.

so who wants pay hundreds of pounds for an steelbook if he gets an re-release which is cheaper and even more rare than the orginal one? even if it has a diffrent art.

For some it's not so much of the value, but the limited availability that is appealing. Just my two cents.

I'm sure plenty of people think along the lines of "it's neat that I own one of only x number of copies in the world of this item, it's really something special. I couldn't care less about the value of it though, because I have zero intention of ever selling this thing." So yes, I think there is a difference.

I, for one, hate the discussion of value, and I also couldn't care less about edition size. As long as I get my one copy, I'm happy. All this talk of "ohh no, I don't know if I should buy because what if the value decreases" takes all the fun out of collecting.

Yep. Besides, Value is fleeting. Ask the G1 Steelbook collectors who got in the game "only" for money. I love artwork and recognize that It can be found on a canvas in a museum just the same as exteriors of Subway carts or yes even on a Steelbook. That's why Steelbooks will never lose they're worth to me because the value I get from them is not based on money.

First off .... this oversold ... over 300 orders would be cancelled ...

but ...

This has been increased to 5k (FINAL) and now no one's orders will be canceled.

Around 650 left that can be sold. (barring no cancellations)

Hats off to Zavvi for their faith and trust as not many retailers would share such info.

Many remember last year this happened with Play's Terminator as demand caused the increase to 5k.

I was still on the fence with this one, but I know I'd regret it later if I didn't order and it went OOS, so many thanks for the heads up! And thank you to Zavvi for increasing the print run so folks like myself had a second chance at grabbing one.

That's a good point I completely forgot about, hehe.

Still, this is really impressive so I hope it means there will be more Disney steels from Zavvi in the future (I'd love a full collection, each with premium finishes ala Roger Rabbit!).
