That will never happen, from a studio stand point... Amaray cases are far more cost and production effective!

Steelbooks are a premium and not everyone wants to spend the extra buck or so to buy a nice metal case. Most people I know want to source the film as cheap as possible regardless of whether it's a SB or not.

Personally it's all about the SB for me, but i only collect the movies i love.

I don't get why scalpers complain about increasing the print run. Even if you only make a pound on it, you've made a profit. Isn't that what you want? It's better than breaking even.

Similarly, I don't get why complaining about increasing the print run makes someone a scalper

Some of us just like to collect (very) limited steelbooks instead of / as well as mass market trade-wide releases. For me chasing limited exclusives is more fun. I might sell or trade them years down the line but that's not scalping

I never complain about people who just buy one copy or who don't care about how limited something is, mainly because it isn't my place to pass judgement. So I don't really expect to have to put up with all the negative comments from people when I (or others) buy more than 1 of a super limited title / limited print run etc or have a copy of something that someone else doesn't.

I spend a lot of time on here and part of the reason is that the info from HDN is some of the most reliable on the web for my interest. I am very committed to collecting what I enjoy. If you spend less time researching the true collectibles, or joined the game later than others, then you have to deal with the fact that you won't be able to obtain certain titles at the most favourable prices. It's the same in any hobby that involves collecting. But you can still obtain them at a higher price and you can still get hold of others titles which are available to keep you happy.

The main reason I spend so much time on here is down to the awesome core bunch of fellow collectors who help provide the reliable information and keep this place a positive environment for us to gather in. It's fine to have a moan every so often, but to keep posting the same negative comments all the time is just a step in the wrong direction each time it happens. Just keep some thoughts to your self (even if it means biting your tongue) and please think how you can contribute to this forum instead

Stay happy, be positive, think of others here before casting judgement, and the world will be a better place ;)

hey folks, the talk about the print run and reselling has got out of hand...lets try and stay on topic.

Please remember four things.

1) The fact that we have any info about the number of copies is a privilege. Lets respect where that info came from, so they will share with us on the next title.

2) Disney, from my experience in general, likes to sell as many quantity as possible. Simply because there is a release like this that will sell well, we are lucky to have a limited edition at all.

3) Zavvi has a global audience that can order from them. With the play.com releases, many members were on the sidelines and could not order for themselves. The more people that can order, the quicker it will sell.

4) We have shown that the HDN member base can assist in selling out a title from a major retailer in a very short time.

Wasn't it just recently that we thought the days of steelbooks were at an end? :oohyeah: :D
