Discount code JULZ50 (£5 off £50 spend) does work with this though, which makes the price slightly more acceptable.

I am not surprised at all. Money is always the 1st priority with big companies like Zavvi.

And this happens when everyone buys their steelbooks, they notice people buy them like hotcakes so of course they are gonna try and make more money out of it eventually.

I agree it is very bad customer service not to send new steelbooks to those who got damaged ones but I guess in this case they are trying to make more money. Big surprise.

Well if Zavvi continue being too greedy it would eventually lose customers who will have enough!

Not just that, I am waiting for replacement steels that are now like 3-4 weeks ago....rediculous lol

they're losing no one.. collectors are at least as greedy as zavvi and will always purchase multiples if they think something will be high in demand..

Something I've noticed with this steelbook is that it doesn't contain the classic animation number in the spine label.
All my disney movies unfortunately has been amaray releases from US/UK/SPAIN, but at least they all have the animated classic number written in the side, so I can put it in my shelf and collect it. This one has nothing, and it just look weird next to all my disney classic blurays.

I still love this steelbook so much, but as a collector, I hate to think that I would need to buy all of them again in steelbook edition? I don't think so.

None of the steelbooks have the numbers you speak of.

They all have spine numbers except Brave jumbo, Snow White, and the 2 digibooks (Cinderella and Peter Pan). Brave (play reversible amaray) has a number on the English side. Less = more, in my eyes.

The difference with this is Zavvi are a retailer, they are not scalpers who sell on ebay to make a few quid. They have set prices for steels. To cancel members copies, do not issue replacements and then suddenly list a batch on ebay for £23.99 is not ethically accepted as a big chain retailer.

And yes they will eventually lose customers. Look at how HMV went bust as they could not match their online competition.

I have been boycotting Zavvi for a while now. The last thing I purchased was Finding Nemo when it was first announced. Nothing since then. A few things have been tempting but I kept myself away for all the reasons described above. F that.

Really really tempted to get a second copy of this, but that price is just too much :( if only zavvi had kept the original price tag on this one.

Just bought one more for me. Helped out another ninja with a copy my good bud Flip sourced for me.

There are too many junk releases in the UK IMO. Flooding the market is not catering to the collecting community. Rarity and limited nature of steelbooks has always been healthy for the hobby and seems Zavvi are trying to change that. As a result, I find other nations offerings more appealing now than I ever did. Asian steels are times a month or so apart. UK steels are like 5-6 per month and titles that quite honestly do not tick all the boxes. Rant over. Up up and away
