I can't wait to get mine. I prefer the animation in Aladdin (and Beauty and the Beast) over Pixar stuff. Don't get me wrong, Pixar is awesome, but I love how the drawn animation looks on blu-ray! Plus, this case is just

I really don't even notice a difference between BR and DVD with traditional animation and those are my favorite movies.

can i ask a question you guys.?
this is directed to those who own some FS disneys...
first of all i do like the steelbook and its colors and i agree it is one of zavvi's best up to now, if not the best they made with WFRR...it has a lot of work in it compared to others.
BUT my question is, whats the base of comparison?
zavvi steelbooks or disney FS steelbooks...?
do you think it even comes close to FS disney quality? in terms of everything, steel quality contents weight printing quality...

You already know the answer. They do not compare. FS/BB releases are far superior in terms of quality and content.

Just bought one more for me. Helped out another ninja with a copy my good bud Flip sourced for me.

There are too many junk releases in the UK IMO. Flooding the market is not catering to the collecting community. Rarity and limited nature of steelbooks has always been healthy for the hobby and seems Zavvi are trying to change that. As a result, I find other nations offerings more appealing now than I ever did. Asian steels are times a month or so apart. UK steels are like 5-6 per month and titles that quite honestly do not tick all the boxes. Rant over. Up up and away

I much prefer the FS releases. I prefer Viva cases and Iron Packs of Disneys than the steelbooks. The Vivas and IP's feel much heavier and you are getting quality. However, the SB's from FS and BB also have a nice feel to it as well such as Wall-e, Cars, Bugs Life.

thought so...i only asked not to sound too negative about it, ;)

Well there are those who will argue that an embossed shark in nemo for example puts it above the BB/FS viva. But there is a reason the original Disneys command a pretty penny. Back on topic, Aladdin would have been so much better without the border like most Disney releases. But it seems the UK market seems to demand embossing on most releases. In terms of content, you get the bare minimum. Frustrating

well people have different opinion,
i would agree with you and sunnyx...FS/BB are far better
as for the boarder i dont like it,
i do like embossing not on everything though,
i do not use the other content but if i am paying almost as much for a this as an FS steel (with zavvi's new price at 23.99...i kind of demand more)
why at least they dont put a sticker or a small slip to add to it?
well...it took months but people actually realised what they clearly aim to do :p

Something I've noticed with this steelbook is that it doesn't contain the classic animation number in the spine label.
All my disney movies unfortunately has been amaray releases from US/UK/SPAIN, but at least they all have the animated classic number written in the side, so I can put it in my shelf and collect it. This one has nothing, and it just look weird next to all my disney classic blurays.

I still love this steelbook so much, but as a collector, I hate to think that I would need to buy all of them again in steelbook edition? I don't think so.

which US titles do have have Numbered...all my US imports are numberless

they really shouldve used those copies to replace damaged ones.. thats terrible customers service

agreed

Got my order dispatched notice today, so here's hoping it makes it to me mint as I doubt there will be another chance to replace this one. Been lucky thus far with my Zavvi orders, so hoping that streak continues.

I got a shipping email for this last Monday and a cancellation email on Wednesday for the same order. If I ejd up not getting this I am going to cancel all my pre orders from zavvi.

I actually did get mine in the mail yesterday!!! So now I get to keep all my other Disney pre orders and my Teeam America pre order!!! :)

Got my one and only copy with a few scratches sadly. I could only accept Zavvi's 10% refund but I guess that's okay. I really wish I bought two when I had the chance. I'll be keeping an eye out on eBay for something good or if anyone is selling here on this forum.

Anyway, I personally dislike the border but the magnificent finish on this steel makes my eyes look elsewhere. I wish it came with more content for the price I am paying as well (especially for LM and JB). I love FS since they include so much but I like UK since their finishes are always great. This payoff matrix is a lose-lose for me sadly.

And back to Aladdin, I'm still happy I got one :)

This is a beauty. The only negative thing I have to say for this steel is the spine artwork is too dark. With my eyesight fading from old age:hilarious:, it will be hard to pick this one off the shelf. Luckily it will be filed alphabetically.
