To me that would be like saying you would rather they have a dvd version as well when it was Blu-ray taking over. Doesn't make any sense.

....Except 4K is in no way usurping Blu ray in the way that Blu ray usurped DVD.
Blu ray didn't require that you invest in a brand new TV that is at least 70" to see the difference.
The comaparison is not apples to apples.

That wasn't verbatim - but I have had these kinds of interactions at Best Buy and Target
(When you go into a store - you kind of expect them to at least know what the hell is in their store.)
