I think the Writer has always said it was a two series and done job.
They had a plan set out. No need to squeeze the life out of something that's great.

The original concept was five seasons, twelve episodes each, with each season covering one year leading up to Rogue One. That idea pretty quickly changed to a one-year season and a second season that covers the remaining four years.

First three episodes were AWESOME. This really is the only Star Wars show so far that straight up feels like a movie and not a TV show.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of season 2, so far there's a different tone to season 1 with a bit more humour in typical Disney fashion which I'm not sure I like for this show

They annoying side missions that detract from the actual story has obviously been present in the first 2 episodes as well so not a fan of that either

I'm going to remain positive for the remainder of the season though

Thought the first 15 mins of episode 1 was masterful. So good. Some of the most enjoyable star wars in recent memory.
And the last half of episode 3 was also top notch.

Episode 2 could have been cut out almost completely and it wouldn't have made a difference to the story.

The show still has some of the pacing issues that I found with season 1. I'm not saying its bad, but it could be a little tighter to help it not feel slow at times.
But overall a great start and I cant wait to see where it goes from here.

I thought episode 3 was the best episode there's been so far. Really enjoyed that one :)

Another incredible 3 episodes.

But you can audibly hear the difference when Nicholas Britell is scoring in episodes 4 and 5 compared to 6 and the first three. Such a shame he couldn't do the entire season. The other thing I also found odd was that they recast Bail Organa just for that quick "Hello", maybe he's in the other episodes more but given that the actor is alive recasting this role really bothers me for some reason.

The other actor had scheduling conflicts, that is why a cameo with Bail Organa was here as also a key character for BBY2.

Seems to be a theme going on here, like last week I found the first two episodes of the week to be a bit of a bore but then the last of the 3 (episode 6 in this case) to be really quite good

Hopefully next week I'll enjoy all 3...

Once again, 3 incredible episodes, season finale material and there is still one block to go.
The only thing I don't like (so far) is that we don't know where poor B2EMO is :( I hope the little guy is okay.

Feels like after 1 and a half seasons now we're talking, this week's episodes were great (the end of episode 9 was proper emotional at the end)

Can't wait for next weeks now

B2EMO is okay!!! Puh...also: amazing final episodes.
I saw an interview with the cast where Tony Gilroy said that they were contracted for 5 seasons in the beginning but they decided to compress 4 seasons into the 12 episodes.

Being as greedy as I am about these things, it would have been incredible to have 4 entire seasons of this show.
But I am so glad we got the 2 we got. Gonna watch Rogue One tomorrow and Episode 4 the day after for the full experience.

Also as a small side note: I just watched the behind the scenes of these last three episodes. It's so weird how Tony Gilroy says at one point "It's all about these 5 women" or something along those lines, referring to 5 of the female characters who survive by the end. You can really feel the Kathleen Kennedy influence there with her 'The force is female' nonsense. How about it's actually about everyone? That's literally what the show is about. Luckily what they say in that making of didn't stick out in the series at all, but just hearing them say this is enough to remind me that Kennedy really has to go and that the genius of this show has probably zero to do with her but Gilroy and the great writers involved.
