The Wrap reports that this has a release date of November 11 and a new title... Arrival.

When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team - lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) - is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity. In theatres Nov 11, 2016

...This is also not to be confused with the Charlie Sheen flick haha

That was a weird flick. David Twohy's film right before starting the Riddick saga.

This Arrival looks interesting, though. Has a 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' vibe to it.

Randomly stumbled across the trailer earlier and it looks amazing. Didn't realise villeneuve was the director.
Definatley up for it

(Maybe he could be a candidate for a man of steel sequel film considering he's starting to tackle more visual effects and with blade runner on the way too - @Noodles, he's pretty busy though with another planned for after BR)

He'd be an interesting choice, but I can't see it ever happening unfortunately... I think his version would be VERY dark, and we all know how critics feel about that  lol.
