Hello folks,

Some of you here may have worked with RiX in a trading capacity or two. As of this morning, Ricky was asked to provide information about a trade and where an item was sourced. Unfortunately, after a large amount of back and forth he decided to not provide this information, even if it would be held in confidence by me. We never like to do this, but he was banned from the forum for a short amount of time.

I told him if he reconsidered and was willing to help resolve this issue, I would allow him back on the forum.

Unfortunately, this is the response that I received and I am now issuing a general trading alert. Contact a trading moderator if you need assistance.

I never post confidential conversations between myself and traders, but given the SERIOUSNESS of this threat, I decided to post it such that there is no question about what was said.

RiX said:
I have outstanding orders with other members worth much, much more money.

I have received the money for these items and will not fulfil them unless I'm reinstated to the HDN forum.

You can now inform people on hdn I am keeping their money. I won't be returning to the forum. There's more than one.

If you paid via regular paypal, please contest the payment ASAP.

Remember that if you pay by paypal gift, the options of a trading moderator are severely limited in their efforts to assist you.

Sorry for any trouble - you'll note that more information about safe trading and reminders on trading rules here on HiDefNinja.com will be posted in the trading forum over the next few days.

Thank you.

EDIT - if these are indeed more than threats and problems do occur - I would like to ask any UK member interested in assisting to please contact me. We may take legal action against this user.

wow, that's really unfortunate to hear.
It still boggles my mind how people can be so callous and on a whim just rip people off.
Thanks Andy!

I have dealed with this member in the past and this came totally by surprise. EEK! But very **** thing to do to not send the items if he isn't reinstanted to the forums. And as Blayze17 said I am also boggled how easily that member just decided to be an ****** instead and cheat other people he made deals with.

Oh what a sad news. :( First building up some trust and empty our pockets. :(
Hopefully further actions will take result and we can do something about it. :(

I'm always saddened when situations like this happen. Thanks AP for the heads up and hopefully this issue will have a positive outcome to all concerned...

*** inform other people and i will keep their money **** WTF and how can he do that specially his been for a long time. Prabably i will say he is the one you can trust here but i was wrong. What kind of human He is. His not even in politics to corrupt some money for personal needs:D

Doesn't surprise me in the least - he was always bloody difficult to deal with, i refused to trade with him because of this.

Thanks for the heads up Andy. whats his ebay ID?

I agree I really hope everyone affected by this resolves in a positive way I also am gobsmacked thay someone would try something like this it really is a sad day for hdn just goes to show that not everyone is as they appear.... cant believe he has the cheek either to demand to be reinstated on the site !!!

He's in the UK, so you can use the PM he sent and his admission that he is going to rip people off, to issue a small claims court claim against him. He's under UK law and so he won't have a choice other than to refund, as well as paying a court cost - unless he wants to be issued with a county court judgement which will restrict his credit for 6 years...

A couple of very important links for starting this process:

http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome

The first will get the police involved, and the second starts the process of claiming the money back.

Don't worry if you're in the USA, because RiX is in the UK you are equally entitled to open a claim with UK police and under UK law - they will accept overseas communication.

Make sure you keep a record of all correspondance to and from RiX. I know ChipVideo has a very recent deal with him and will be able to provide his address so the police can pay him a nice little visit. I hope everyone gets a good resolution from this, it takes a callous person to willingly rip people from their hard-earned cash and he deserves everything he gets.

For what it's worth, his eBay ID is friskydingouk - block him immediately.

Thanks for the heads up. Since the moderators have his email address from when he signed up for the forums and a clear admission of guilt in the original post, it might be posible to take legal action or file a subpoena.

Maybe we should spread the word also anyone on any other sites or forums where he may be operating inform the populace and staff everywhere ...

I am sure he will also read this thread(signed up as a guest) and maybe because of Wootballs post he will refund the money earlier than expected

His attitude on on hdn was one of which made me question his general nature.. What a moron. Good ridence to bad tosh!

amen to that lol I was always feeling bad about this person ; something like he hates "collectors" or something, I really feel it that way ...

such an ass

un vrai petit c** comme on dit en France !

Personally, yes it does say something about a persons character to say something like that but is there any chance he was just really upset that over the reason he was banned and was just heated, like people can tend to get, and made an idle threat to ap but does intend to fulfil his orders.

I've not personally dealt with him and I really don't know him. I don't want to stir the pot, just throwing it out there

If that's the case, he has 25 days after being issued with a small claims court summons to completely clear his side of the deal - then all claims will be dropped. If he was just heated, the impending legal action should calm him down enough to pay a quick visit to the post office this week.

That's for the heads up Andy.

I can't stand scammers hate them with a passion.

Didn't know Rix eBay account was 'friskydingouk' he actually bought off me recently.

He's going straight on the BLOCK LIST.
