Blu-Bastard - Unreliable!

Due to the posts in the thread i thought it was a good idea to update so nobody gets hit with the same issues.

There have been loads of issues with unreliability and not fulfilling orders, they do not send items after you pay for them, and they do not respond to any emails. The site use to be fully functional a years or so back, so i'm not sure what has gone wrong since then, but they seem to be taking funds and not sending goods. Please be careful when/if ordering from here, personally from what i has been posted in this thread i would stay well clear.

Blu-Bastard Link

I came across this site on Google and was wondering if anybody has purchased off of them before as i am unsure as to if they are genuine or not?

There are a few things i would like to order but wasn't sure if they were genuine or not, but i have emailed them about stock etc. and they seem to be fine, but still...

According to their "About" page, they sell American/Ca products however ship from the UK and is free shipping to the UK, and as cheap as Zavvi for everywhere else :)

Does anybody know anymore on this retailer?

P.S. Also for those interested if the site is genuine, they seem to have the McFarlane Toys edt. of The Walking Dead season 2...

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post. I did not see an already existing thread for this site, if there is or if it is the wrong place to post then mods feel free to move the thread :)

Yes it was genuine and still might be, I bought loads of Blu's from them until the end of last year when they screwed up the site and the loyalty points system stopped working, then they could not deliver films ordered, my Little Shop Of Horrors arrived over 2 months late due to shipping issues, they gave me a free Blu-ray of my choice for my troubles and credited me for Little Shop Of Horrors so I got that for free too so thumbs up there.

I have tried to contact Rollo a month or so ago but never got a response so if they are up and running still they are not advertising it very well.

Films bought from them:

The Fox and the Hound/The Fox and the Hound II 30th Anniversary Edition
South Park: The Complete Thirteenth Season - Uncensored
The Lion King Trilogy Collector's Set
Cars: Director's Edition - Combo Pack
Dogma
Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Combo Pack
Bones: The Complete Fifth Season
Bones: The Complete Sixth Season - Cradle To Grave Edition
The Rocketeer: 20th Anniversary Edition
The Muppets: The Wocka Wocka Value Pack + Soundtrack - Combo Pack
The Way
Home on the Range - Combo Pack
Treasure Planet: 10th Anniversary Edition - Combo Pack
The Rescuers/The Rescuers Down Under: 35th Anniversary Edition - Combo Pack
Little Shop of Horrors: The Director's Cut

I will say that when everything was running OK there service was 2nd to none.

They offer Paypal as a payment method so if you had any problems at least you would be covered.

I must say though the prices are very high on some items, for example Star Trek STG - Season 2 is £75.99!

Yeh, it says that they usually respond within a 4 hour period but the last time i emailed them it went about 4 days with no reply so i emailed again and they replied straight away :)

Thanks for the info guys :)

Yeh, i mean some of the prices are a little high, but for things like the US digibooks which are around £18 via Blu-Bastard are pretty cheap as from amazon these would cost me around £25 incl. import taxes etc... So if you live in the UK it works out well ;)

Also, NAT can you remember how long postage times were, the site says 1-2 days after dispatch but you said you had problems with delivery...? :)

When it was all good which was up until my last order with them they always arrived next day as they ship from the US to there place in London and then dispatch from the UK to the UK. Downside is they only dispatch on the release date, DVDWorldUSA.com who I now use ships as soon as in stock, sometimes anything up to a month before, I did have one film 6 weeks before it's US release.

yeah its genuine but my last 2 orders (both since xmas) were messed up royally and according to may over on BR.com its a new trend.

Blu-bastard used to be great with orders arriving within a week of purchase but even pre-orders take a month to arrive now :(

Anyone know if this site is still running? Purchased 2 of The Walking dead limited zombie Blu Ray boxset over 2 months ago, No contact whatsoever even though iv sent around 10 messages without any response. The money got taken out of my account straight away but status is still 'payment accepted' - quick enough to take the cash  really frustrated now, especially as their ignoring my messages

after i posted this thread i got loads of great help all saying that the site is genuine but they have recently been highly unreliable. I emailed them almost a year ago and got a reply within a couple of days, but i also emailed them around the time i posted this and they never replied. I'm really not sure what to suggest buddy, do they have a phone number? Maybe you could give that a try...? :dunno:

Just edited OP with all the info ;)

Hey, nope no contact information other than email.

GOOD news though, out a case in through paypal, and they decided today in my favour and the £160 has been put back in my account - they never even responded to any of pay pals messages..or mine.

Seriously for anyone curious about using this site - DON'T , they take you're money and run....if you do decide to buy, always pay through paypal so you at least have a chance of getting the cash back :)

Huge thanks for your reply btw :scat:
