Back on topic, ehem...watched Prince of Persia (had Steelbook)-eh..2.5/5, but I had heard that, so it was not a big shocker.

That movie was a travesty. Having Jake Gyllenhal was a mistake (I like him). They should've went with an unknown that looked "Persian."

Just watched Inglorious Basterds. EEK! Had not seen or read any spoilers!
I thought it was good...son hated it.

That's such an awesome movie. Sorry your son didn't like it. I think people either love QT movies, or they really really hate them.

I hate that dude's movies. I really can't stand his filmmaking style. I still can't find what's the big deal with Kill Bill, after all these years I still dislike those movies. lol

I watched ticking clock yesterday. Movie was ok, a bit weird at the end.

Cargo-Swiss Sci-Fi film. Very visually appealing to me, and made for 5 million or so. Also an interesting premise (humans are told Earth is uninahibtable, and are told they need to go to a beautiful alternate planet. However, that planet is also not inhabitable, and the humans are kept in tanks in a "simulation" to make them believe this paradise exists. No English language on Steelbook, but I watched in German. Very impressive effort, and a multi-year journey for film maker. Cool extras like "from concept to actual scene" with layers of production explained. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0381940/

Your so right about PoP, I though jake did a good job though, but with an unknown who looked the part I think people would think it was much better of a movie too.

as for IB, I love it :)

oh btw I'm watching the Pacific daily with the Mrs. and we're both loving it. Totally awesome, so far its just as good as BoB in regards to quality, film making, realism, and acting. Such a great purchase.

We watched Legends of the Guardians: Owls of Gahoole-awesome animation by Zack Snyder. A neat animated film for adults, with heart. Very endearing characters-PQ/AQ excellent.

Just watched Buried, pretty cool and gripping. Though I dont see it as much more then a one time watch unless you just wanna experience it again with friends etc.

Finally got around to watching more episodes of 'Firefly'. Wife and I have really started to enjoy it. About halfway thru the season....already wishing there was a season 2! :(

We just watched Despicable Me-we liked the storyline with the 3 little girls and Dad, but the movie itself was not as good as we expected. I suppose this happens with most hyped movies. Had its cute parts, but only a 3.5/5 for me.

Blueglide-my partner refuses to watch the rest of Firefly-we got so into it, after years of it being off the air. We were sad it didn't have future seasons either, but I am trying to convince her to finish it with me. Great genre fusion and commentary on the caste system of society. Very witty dialogue and cool visuals-I loved what I saw thus far...

I agree...its a shame some of the better TV series get dumped too soon! There was so much further plot potential. It's especially annoying considering some of the tripe (reality show nonsense) that passes for entertainment today. Another series favorite was Battlestar Galactica. Spent one especially cold winter season watching that series each evening and what a fabulous show it was. I never caught it while it aired on TV but anyone that hasn't got that one on blu-ray is really missing out IMHO! :D

Blueglide-I watched Season 1 on HD DVD, because everyone said I needed to check it out. Now I am streaming Season 2 on Netflix HD, and am enjoying it more and more. I hope to get through the whole show (ah, to have enough time!:).
