Watched Wall Street 2 BD yesterday-3/5 at best, for me. PQ 4/5,AQ 4/5. I liked the original and the cameo was fun, as was the dialog weaving together the aspects that caused the Financial crash. But the film fell flat for me in the end. Glad it was a rental.

I still haven't seen the original yet, just one of those films that passed me by. Do you need to see the original to understand this or is it a separate story?

Sigill-the original does a great job of depicting the general "greed" and "excess" that was the 80's. It also provides good background info for the main character of that film-Gordon Gecko as well as the general sense that nothing much has changed in terms of the descent of the Financial markets. I'd give it a look for continuity, but it's not crucial in understanding the second one.

Thanks digitalbabe, i think i will check the original out then. The Wall Street 2 blu isn't released over here yet so it will give me some time to catch the original.

We watched it last night GB and we loved it. Really funny! Loved Helen Mirren as well, she kicked some arse!

Posted from my BlackBerry.

Watched Basement, awful low budget rubbish. Even Danny Dyer couldn't save it. The PQ was awful, it looked like an upscaled DVD. I'm just glad i only paid £5 for it!

I watched Pans Labyrinth finally, i admit I only found the movie "ok". The steelbook looks awesome though, but I feel I could have probably done without now.

Disney's Secretariat

Pretty sentimental waste of time really, but very easy on the brain...

All Disney live action movies that AREN'T action movies are always sentimental, inspiring like stories. :p

Yes your quite right of course, Have to disagree with you about Pans Labyrinth though, I thought that was a great film. Haven't seen it for a while, I'll have to fire up the old HD-DVD player to watch though!

Hi Pmartin-I too have the HD DVD (Ultimate Set):) I enjoyed the film-it's a different somber tone, but tragically beautiful (a "type" of film that generally captivates me)....

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, Guillermo Del Toro's fascination with the Spanish Civil war has lead to great films. Devil's Backbone is another good film. But Pan's Labyrinth's story is quite beautiful in a sad and tragic way. Delving in the mind of a child as she tries to cope with her new life and reality is great.
