Sorry me again...

Just received by post...

Butch Cassidy & The Sundace Kid - Digibook
Houdini & Those Daring Young Men in their Jaunty Jalopies 2xBD Double bill

Just watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1.

I don't know... I always rent the HP movies when they hit BD, but I never 'get' them. I've never read the books, and the movies just seem like overly-long diversions from the goal of fighting Voldemort. For instance, I had no clue why it was so important to find the necklace thing and then 'kill' it with the special sword. I understood that it was basically a LOTR rip-off and all that, I just didn't get what it meant to the overall story at hand.

And I never get how Harry is supposed to be 'the one' type dude.... but he's always getting his ass handed to him.

I don't consider myself a shallow film-watcher. Chinatown is one of my favs, (and I like Kubrick movies dammit!) :p and I can usually follow fairly complex stories. But I always find myself bored with HP movies. I just can't follow the big picture in them, and each movie seems like an old TV serial show, with nothing to do with each other, instead of advancing the story along. Maybe it has to do with just watching each movie once, a year or more apart, so I forget whatever small strands tie each film together... but it just doesn't feel like any of it ever goes anywhere.

I need to pick up The Rite, was hoping for a steelie tho.

I watched "The Cove" recently and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"

I recommend EVERYONE watch "THE COVE" its a crazy true documentary that will make you think twice about a lot of things........

returning from Sanborns (again 40% off) got All the presidents men (digibook same as USA) and Yogui 3D paid $390 total (about $32.50 USD) :oohyeah:

Nice picks, JP!

Thanks, DB :)

I told myself I wouldn't buy any of the old F13s on blu ray until the boxset came out... but then part 3 came out in 3D, so I had to get that... and I couldn't pass up on the original for $4. Now the only one I don't have (that's released) is part 2, and I really want that one in BD, damnit! I want my damned F13 BD boxset!!!

:scat:

ps. NICE GRAB BUFFALO, I still need taht digibook.

IM WATCHING THE USUAL SUSPECTS FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER ... RIGHT NOW :)

Wreck ---

Shutter Island bugged me, cause I had a very strong feeling of what the ending was, and the whole time I was thinking 'Please don't be the ending, that would be lame'... and it was. So that was a big letdown...

But the cinematography is insanely awesome in it (Bob Richardson rules -- he did Inglorious Bastards, Kill Bill and many more).... which is the main reason I got it. Also, once I got over what the ending was, I could think back and remember all the signs and clues given, and I think it'll be worth a 2nd viewing, just to have fun catching all the hints.

Can't believe you haven't seen The Usual Suspects till just now. What an awesome ending to that one. :)

Yeah I need to finish it ....... drank 4 blue moons and needless to say kinda passed out very close to the end! haha.

Not that I'm a lightweight, but when you're not moving 4 blue moons can have that affect. ;)

I know what you mean. Hell, 2 bud lights and I'm liable to pass out on the couch while watching an afternoon baseball game. I was thinking of stocking up on some Blue Moon, myself. :)

Watched:

Tangled-first time seeing it, we really enjoyed it. Blu-Ray, like most Disney discs I've seen, was beautiful.

Watched: Black Swan - mmmmm, think I need to see it again.
Other half's comments "Exactly what I expected: complete fruitloop!!" (Didn't like to say that actually I quite liked it but still weird.)
