I saw an internal FS flyer that listed "Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes" as a possible Steelbook. No release date was given.

apsmith21 - release date is likely the same as amaray - December 13, 2011.

I really doubt this is going to be a steelbook. Amazon.ca listed a regular bluray with the exact same artwork.

I think if it was supposed to be releases 'soon' they may have confirmed it by now, but who knows. Skip for me anyway, but often the art is the same on the Amaray, so we'll have to wait and see....

I've never heard of a flyer saying "Possible SteelBook" that's kinda odd. Not to say its not true, just saying. Would love to see a scan if so...

Sorry, "flyer" was the wrong word to use. What I caught a glimpse of was an internal release schedule. On the bottom of the schedule was a list of 4 titles without any release dates. I was looking over the shoulder of the sales rep so I couldn't get a good look but he did read them out to me and said they may, or may not, ever be released. The Smurfs, RotPotA, and The Help were in this list but I don't remember what the 4th title was.

The release date is likely the same as the amaray, so I've updated the OP with that date, assuming this release will happen.

The listing price on futureshop.ca is $40 before taxes. Seems a little bit too much for an amaray if you ask me.

I know my friend, I've even mentionned it earlier in the thread. I just don't want to believe Future Shop would list an Amaray for $40 for a single non-3D movie, doesn't make sens.

I don't think this is going to be a steelbook, I saw an ad at FS when you just walk into the door of upcoming releases and the pic showed for this is the amaray edition. They usually show the steelbook in these ads from my experiences shopping at FS.

Hate to be a downer guys, I really wanted this to be a steel too, but it does not look good.

I am going to be looking at sourcing this elsewhere I think.

but it is almost certain that it won't be an SB, sadly

Definitely not a steelbook. Fox has/had a no exclusive policy for NA. That is why you will never see any SB of any fox movies in Canada until they change their policy.

it's not in the flyer
and on the website its 26.99 (I believe) but not mention of it.
I am 99% sure this is not a steelbook.
I would however be pleasantly surprised if i was wrong.

That's sucks, hopefully they pull a Hanna steelbook wait to the last minute and bam it turns out as a Canadian steel. one can only hope.
