It's a 2K restoration from a new 4K scan

Negative scan and restoration are different process
Example Lawrence of Arabia was 8K scan of negative and then restored in 4K

So does that mean we could see a 4k scan from someone like Shout Factory?

It's not known yet who the distributor will be in USA

It's already a 4K scan of the negative the arrow release
The restoration process of films is done after a negative has been scanned and they decided on a 2K restoration instead of 4K

If scream factory get the rights they likely just go with the 2K restoration digital file that's been done you might get them do some differences with encoding and different extras

I'm surprised the restoration was not done in 4K giving the negative had a 4K scan done but it's not unusual as has happened before with other films

Arrow Video are Sold Out

You can still pre order from Amazon/Zavvi/HMV

This will very likely to be sold out with most retailers before or just after release date

Hey everyone,
For people who have pre-ordered from amazon before, when does the item ship out? On release day or before?
Thank you.
Amazon UK usually start to debit cards from Friday/Saturday/Sunday with shipping mostly done on Saturday/Sunday and sometimes not until release date Monday
Depends on your location and carrier available sometimes shipping can be a few days after release date

Amazon don't do early shipping like Zavvi and some other retailers

With this release it will be next weekend 26/27/28 when amazon will take payment

Most time amazon UK use An post for Rep of Ireland and includes tracking number with free and paid shipping
When they use An Post you get delivery in 1-2 days after been shipped
But they might use royal mail or other carriers with no tracking number on occasions

Are Arrow likely to ship this early? Getting close, had hoped to get it this weekend...

This is available at HMV from Friday, they have exclusive rights until Monday
Retail high street shops in Rep of Ireland will likely have stock on Friday
Tower Records/Golden Discs etc

Friday is release date for home media on Blu-ray/DVD'S in Rep of Ireland compared to Monday in UK
The only time it's Monday in Rep of Ireland is when a UK release date restriction applies and happens mostly with Disney releases.

HMV and Arrow and Zavvi have started to ship orders so some customers who ordered on-line will have delivery on Friday depending on your location
