Finally got the code to work but seriously, for everyone who couldn't, don't feel bad. Visited the site and it automatically set the country settings to Germany and I couldn't get to any other Zavvi site ... not .com, not .co.uk .. so obviously the code didn't work. Nor did the link on page 4 coz Zavvi automatically redirected to the German page. I had to clear the cookies to be able to access the .com page. So yeah ... freaking pain to get this thing to work. Requested cancellation of my first order now as the discount from the code gives me a much higher chance to get this through customs.
I always use the welcome346 link and the code DEZ12. As you can see it still works. This is a screenshot of 2 minutes ago:

They have the right of refusal to sell shoddy goods on their site.
More proof they don't care.
It would be the same steelbook and lenti if retailer was Amazon or Hmv and these sell well that is what retailers want

These Disney releases sell very well both with the retailer and also on the third party market

You refuse a Disney exclusive as a retailer you risk loosing out the next Disney exclusive release to a different retailer and possible later exclusive releases

Sounds like poor Zavvi have their hands tied. Can't work in conjunction with their supplier, can't point out the negative feed back from customers on Lenti's that don't fit the steelbook covers. Poor Zavvi.

All the recent Disney Lenti Steelbook releases did line up I gather you not been purchasing them to not noticed this

It was Avengers Age of Ultron Lenti that was bad the releases after this the Lentis lined up

Some people just don't seem to get how Lenticulars actually work, This is likely to be a 3D effect, and the image you see on the lenti magnet MOVES, LEFT & RIGHT depending on the angle you view it, So the Shield is on the foreground and Capt. is in the background. If you were to view this looking from the right, it's likely the shield would line up or even push more to the left of the still steel image.

The only issue I have with this lenti, is it does seem to protrude out at the bottom, possibly due to the embossing being raised down there or no border in the bottom part (borders clearly visible at the top)

But whatever, this is miles better than all the other Marvel lentis I've seen.

And Ordered..

That's awesome! Worked like a charm. :woot: And like that import taxes are below 5€ so no further charges. Thanks so much for this! I'll have to remember that code.

For anybody who has ordered this and couldn't get a code to work for a discount.

I just tested the code again at 9:35 P.M. British Time and it still works. I am in Canada.
So if you are still interested in trying to get a discount, then give it another try. I just got a bigger discount by putting in an order for 2 copies instead of 1. It gave me the 10% off. By adding a second copy it gave me free shipping to Canada instead of the usual $3.99 Canadian. My total for the 2 came out to $75.86 which works out to $37.93 per copy with no charge for delivery. A total savings of $12.34 Canadian or $10.00 US.

Offers Used:
Welcome Back - 10% off
CA$8.35
Free delivery Steelbook Blu-ray applied
CA$3.99
Delivery:
CA$0.00
Total Cost:
CA$75.86

This is what worked:

1) I clicked the Zavvi link in the OP and it takes me to the product page.
2) I clicked the PRE-ORDER NOW button on the Zavvi product page and it automatically puts the product in my cart.
3) I immediately closed the Zavvi page.
4) I clicked this link which Cisco posted in the SteelBook™ Price Drop/Back in stock/On Sale/Sold out alert (Retailer/Ebay) thread which takes me back to Zavvi.
5) I clicked on the basket which already shows my quantity has been saved.
6) I copied and pasted WELCOME346 into the box beside - Got a discount code? Enter it here: and clicked ADD. This brings up the message Your discount has been applied: Welcome Back - 10% off
7) And then if you want another copy just click on the Add an item (the + button) to bring the quantity up to 2. This brings up the message
Your discount has been applied: Free delivery Steelbook Blu-ray applied
8) From there just follow the checkout instructions.

Once your new order goes through successfully, then immediately go to your account and cancel your previous non discounted order.

This is still working right now at 10:06 P.M. British Time.

If you try again now please let me know how it goes.

I don't know if this will work Sunday for Doctor Strange but here's hoping.

Good Luck to all.

That was the case when you ordered through the zavvi.com site using the 10% discount, too. However, another 2% saved on the steelbook:thumbs:

Thanks man, your procedure finally worked for me. But it´s weird as I used the same link posted in "Price drop" thread and it didn´t work before. And yes I put the item to cart before and close that page right after. Really weird, but anyway I made a new order and canceled the first one, thanks again

Zavvi Website description has updated

Front: Embossing of the Title Treatment on the front + Captain America

Back: Embossing Captain America and Iron Man

Confusing specs, what!? . . . especially after reading this message from Zavvi:-
"Check out this brand new Captain America 3: Civil War 3D (Includes 2D Version) - Zavvi Exclusive Lenticular Edition with EMBOSSED FRONT and DEBOSSED BACK !"

Regarding EMBOSSED BACK art -
I can only see that working without a frame if the image is central such as here . . . although usually with embossing on both sides there's a framing border on both sides too. With this CIVIL WAR steelbook art I can't see which parts would be raised on the back / which parts lowered . . . what with the image covering almost the whole back surface area right to the edge of the steelbook on all four sides:-

.

.
upload_2017-9-23_23-20-21.png
upload_2017-9-23_23-36-17.png
Regarding DE-BOSSED BACK art -
I can see that working even less well . . . again, with the back art almost covering the whole back surface area right to the edge as there's no specific element of said artwork that can be lowered below the rest.
Just can't see it.

Regarding EMBOSSED FRONT art -
Now that's a different kettle of fish and a brilliant move. Disney taking a leaf out of Sony's book
The raised title . . . and even the raised artwork . . . is not a problem in the slightest for a lenticular steelbook even though it will cause the lenticular to sit proud in its frame.
The best examples of UK embossed lenticular steelbooks (imo) are these 3 SPIDER-MAN beauties from Zavvi:-
( . . . and with Spider-Man spot glossed there's no excuse for Disney not to request spot glossing of Cap A.).

No it wasn't coz I paid in GBP and the total at Paypal ended up being slightly over 5€ due to currency exchange rate and fees. :) But I cancelled that one now.

You clearly have no imagination if you can't see what areas they could emboss on the back without having the border but if you look at the daredevil season 1 and 2 Steelbook front bossing you should get an idea (Which they could pull off on the back)

For example they could deboss the inside of the shield around caps head, arm and hand leaving cap and iron man raised making them look embossed

And in regards to your embossed front comment being a different kettle of fish and a brilliant move (lol), the majority of the marvel zavvi lenti wave has embossed titles!!!!! So **** knows what your on about

So the best examples are pretty much this wave lol (as well as Spider-Man)...... Sony technically took the leaf from disneys book

Thank you for replying! Glad to hear it worked for you! It's been frustrating for me over time as well.

I only got it to work for me in the past one time. Missed out on so many discounts including for American Made that I cancelled my 4K orders for that.

I tried all the correct steps at least 5 times earlier today without luck.
I had links bookmarked from the past (all the same links that get posted every time on here for this discount) and it would never work for me.

So I finally stopped for a few minutes after placing a non discounted order today, deleted every link and started fresh. I did a google search for Zavvi and clicked on the link that came up.
At Zavvi I did a search for Captain America, found the product, and went from there and was successful.

Then a couple hours later I tried again but this time with all of the information that people always post here and this time that all worked also.

I don't know what to think. Sometimes it's going to work and other times it won't.
But when it doesn't I'll just start fresh again like this time.

So now I don't know about that "it only works for a few minutes" statement. Today it has lasted hours.

I saved all of the above directions and links in a Word Document knowing that I will have to start with the link on the Doctor Strange page Sunday.

So If it doesn't work the first couple of times that I try on Sunday then I guess I'll just shut down the tabs and start fresh again.

And for every release after that.

I realise that reading may be a problem for you just as much as understanding what's written . . . but let's try to follow what I wrote regarding front embossed artwork:-

As usual in your rush to demean my posts you've missed my point about embossing on this steelbook:-
a) Embossed TITLES is NOT the issue as they are not uncommon on lenticular steelbooks from Disney Marvel (THOR etc.) and Disney (THE LONE RANGER).
b) The issue, or rather the point I was trying to make and which you missed, was regarding the EMBOSSING OF THE FRONT ARTWORK on lenticular steelbooks - something I believe has NOT been done on a Disney / Disney Marvel / Disney Pixar LENTICULAR STEELBOOK . . . unlike the Sony SPIDER-MAN lenticular steelbooks where embossed front art has been done very successfully - hence "brilliant move" by Disney for copying that example and requesting embossed front artwork on CA: CIVIL WAR which is a first for them.

Don't know what you're on about regarding the embossing of the back art. I think the back should be full gloss and flat with the front zero finish with Cap A. and his shield spot glossed.

Speaking of which. do you happen to know if the SPIDER-MAN lenticular steelbooks that Zavvi sells have that embossing?

Sorry, dude, mea culpa, those 3 above are the Zavvi ones.
The 2 from HMV - THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 1 & 2 - also have embossed titles (and embossed Spidey . . . if I remember correctly) and maybe not as nice as the 3 from Zavvi.

Just checked the Zavvi website and either I have always missed this information or it's something new they are including on the description page. Something I will have to pay more attention to.
