You may be right, I know they used thinker slips for It Follows but I can't think of any others of the top of my head that were full slips.
thick or not, havnt they all been o-ring style slips for lenti's?

I do like them, but after getting The Incredibles and Birdman lenti full slips this year...I'm swayed :)

Do we really need 4000 copies? Nope. This isn't 2014 and CA:WS is just being released, it's a catalog title. Such a strange time to release this after Blufans and Novamedia have put there versions out long ago. Novamedia did 1,500 copies and Blufans did 1,300 lenti's and 700 1/4 slips.
I do not think this will sell out lightning fast and Deadpool comparisons are bit silly,
A month after release this will be on Ebay for cost or less, just a prediction.

If the only justification for a successful release was aftermarket prices, then there would be no point to collecting. I personally believe 4k is the right amount considering it will be split 3 ways with 4 options to purchase giving people options and demand will rise as we get more info in the weeks to come. There will be absolutely no comparison to the BF or Nova releases as those were basically the WWA artwork.

Iron man had two different effects flip flop and 3d. I'm assuming with this they'll be both be going for 3d depth so it'll be interesting to see which people prefer of the two

The Blufans lenti for IM was also, imo, a rare disappointment from them. It was so washed out that Tony looked corpse-like, especially in direct comparison to Kimchi's or their own Thor release.

If only 2000 copies were made there would be a shitstorm on here.
I agree people would go nuts if it was a 2K release but I would much rather have that size print run.

My thoughts had nothing to aftermarket prices. You realize that if you split up 4,000 copies it will probably be 1,800 lentis, 1,200 full slip A and 1000 full slip B. Not sure how many 1 Clicks but that's a lot of copies. If there were not Group Buys for this it would take hours to sell out all of these. I still think it probably will unless this just blows away the Blufans and Nova Choice editions, seems like some are down on those editions which I don't quite get.
The Nova was WWA but people seem to only really care about slips these days. Blufans and Nova both sold out quick but that was when this was a new film and they only had 2K and 1.5K print runs. Guess we will see, I'm only buying this if they do an amazing job. I hope it looks great Kimchi has been great (Fifth Element, Martian) and average(Maze Runner 2, Terminator Salvation) with their 2016 exclusives.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out, I think it will blow the blufans release out of the water, their lenticular slip was dull and badly distorted the characters faces not to mention their wwa steel had a awful washed out finish compared to elsewhere where it was gloss.

Will it be at the Novamedia version? Well the lenticular probably won't as the Novamedia one is absolutely stunning but with two full slips from Kimchi we might be in for a real treat

Not too keen on Blufans to be honest so that's probably why I missed this...plus am more a fan of Korean Lenti's in all honesty :)
I am the exact same. I'd love an MCU collection comprised entirely of kimchidvd and novamedia. I'd much prefer if there were only one option of each though. Kimchi, make an iron man 3 and a thor before you re-do something nova has already done please

There are diverse opinions on most releases anyway. Each will pro's and con's. Just because a majority will share a positive remark doesn't mean there isn't a dissenting opinion. I own both BF and Nova Lenti editions and imo the BF edition isn't as great. Nova did exceptionally well with the lenticular O ring that it elevated an ok steelbook.

There have been numerous successful editions that took time to sell. Tangled Kimchi took a while to sell out. There is an increasing amount of collectors. Why not have print runs that will cover demand to an extent. It's not like there is another country releasing this. 4000 copies is perfect for a blockbuster and obviously the many marvel fanatics like I

It still sells out
A retailer selling out in a few min or a few hours has the same result for the retailer it achives the release been sold out and taking a few hours is better for the retailer and customers than in a few min as it has less problems with a website and customers ability to order

What a retailer don't want is stock not selling out as in stuck with lot of unsold stock for 3 months or longer

Of course this will sell out. I was referring to the day it goes on sale, probably should have been more clear :bag: Obviously a retailer could care less if this will sell out in 3 hours or 3 days. I agree with everything you said above. I just wish they printed less copies.
I like having editions as a collector that are more limited but that doesn't mean I don't care about the look of the steelbook, that is always more important than anything. I just get more excited when the steelbook is more rare. I enjoy the hunt of trying to find ones that are hard to find. Seems like I just find the fact a steelbook is limited more important than yourself, which is fine just preference.
TY for your advice in the novamedia retailer thread:thumbs::thumbs:

Forgive me, but we're arguing about things that we really don't have any control over. Retailers obviously listen to customers but they do market research on the items that they offer - and what we get is what the company determined was best for its own bottom line. Therefore, Kimchi obviously determined that there was enough demand for this title to warrant a new version. Although this is an "older" title, I was overseas when the original steelbooks came out and wasn't able to get one so I am thrilled that I'll have an opportunity to add this to my rapidly growing collection (without the huge mark-up in price that you have by buying through scalpers on eBay). It's pointless to complain about what is or isn't offered by a retailer. If we buy the product, then they made the right choice AND if we don't buy the product then they will likely change their strategy in the future. It's pretty simple.
