I’ve been talking to a member over PM who’s joined the RC and they explained to me all the bad parts of this scam and that the code hasn’t worked and works the same way as the welcome code. That the 20% don’t work on all collectibles. It’s a proper scam and they know it. You’ve been here a while like I have and many other members. Zavvi love to use a good ol scare tactic but most attempts have failed them.
This is their biggest attempt and I’m worried that this one might actually work for them but those RC members will still get mugged off. And the upsetting thing is I doubt many will complain about it because to them it’s not worth the hassle. I really hope members complain to them.
The only perk I can see with this is the shipping. Maybe the early access too but that will only be beneficial on marvel releases. I have no fear that they will sell out before the public pre order but it’s a real shame the code will be disabled. They have jacked up prices in the last year too so it’s even more of a kick in the teeth. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if another scare tactic of this is that they will show (marvel) as sold out attempting to prove that the RC membership is the way to order but then the editons come back after release like they do anyway but for longer because they lied about the original pre order numbers. That wouldn’t surprise me with them

It's clear they don’t care either, if you seen that first message I posted from them about the RC it’s so clear they don’t give a fucccck.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Disney/ marvel/ Star Wars wwa releases when they go live. Will the go live at midnight for RC and then the next day for public? will Disney allow that? will they go live at the same time for everyone? Is this early access only for catalogue and re releases? A lot of questions
The fact that they didn’t even state when maleficent went live for RC so by the time it went live most the RC customers couldn’t even use the promised code is just laughable. They really do not care that you have opted into their scheme... I mean scam

a FAC "Casino" from Filmarena is also planned ... so it could be a very nice choice .... booklet, cards & maybe a great Fullslip.
Also ... don't get why we don't have a bluray bonus disc in Zavvi Edition ... EverythingBlu will propose this bonus disc !!!
I will be getting both FAC and EveythingBlu releases
This is why I not pre ordered from either Zoom or Zavvi on this occasion
Zavvi not having 10% off or shipping discounted makes a difference and will affect my decision with future pre orders
My main concern is when it's a release that is very limited print run and it's a release I miss out on due to it selling out during early access with red carpet subscribers
Scalpers will love red carpet especially for very limited print runs and marvel releases that are limited more than usual print runs.
Look how fast Iron Man steelbooks and Thor steelbooks sold out and that was before red carpet early access was in existence
If Red Carpet had off been around then it would have be very hard to pre order for non red carpet subscribers as these very likely would been sold out or very little stock left over before they went on general sale for all customers.
Some of the steelbooks Zavvi get as exclusives in UK are available to get from Europe from (Amazon France/Germany/Italy) but there are some very limited releases that don't be.
I'm not sure if EverythingBlu listing is correct that it comes with Bonus Disc
The 4K steelbook and 4K amaray editions of casino is listed as 2 discs in UK/USA/Germany/Czech Republic

It's basically heaven for UK based scalpers now. I mean seriously, what a ridiculous set up. Could you imagine the outcry if an Asian retailer did this?

Whoever greenlit this move, hasn't a clue how to run a business. They obviously don't want the hassle of dealing with overseas orders or returns any more. They're letting the UK scalpers handle it!!

Out of curiosity, what's the limit that RC members can preorder (that Zavvi mentioned) can anyone confirm?
You may be right ... it might be an error from EverythingBlu .... Filmarena won't propose a bonus disc in their FAC XL (only 4K+BD).
To preorder a limited steelbook such as Marvel 4K on Zavvi ... you need to be online exactly when it's live ... otherwise it's pretty you will miss it.
But it's easier for European customers to preorder on Zavvi because preorder time is often 8pm or 2PM.... never in the night or very early in the morning ... that's why it will be now very difficult for US customers to buy with RC on Zavvi.
Maybe Zavvi will keep a low for non RC Subscribers for very limited preorders .... just a guess.

It's a sign of desperation, with retail sectors and physical media struggling, zavvi are throwing a last dice to drum up short term funding it seems to me, but it will surely backfire ?, adding shipping (and increasing it for international customers) isn't going to win any friends, and will alienate many. I'm a RC member, and i'm already P*ssed with it and I've told zavvi. If Zoom, HMV and other can offer free postage, then zavvi must compete, they just don't care anymore....without the Disney exclusives, zavvi will be dead.
This 'Exclusivity' for Casino smacks of the work of amateurs as well

Obviously it’s sh!t that you have to but I’m glad your making them aware.
Zavvi never cease to amaze me and I bet they ignore all the complaint replies on the twitter post they posted today about the red carpet
Rough times for the customer in recent years what with the disappearance of Play.com and The Entertainment Store retailing exclusive steelbooks, the HMV merry-go-round and Amazon hardly bothering anymore with exclusive steelbook (in the UK), Zoom stopping the abuse of the SIGNUP code for anything but the first order, Amazon with their minimum £20 spend before free shipping and now for Zavvi's 10th birthday there's the Red Carpet which brings to mind the original and bloody meaning of the term.
