I'm making the switch from extract to partial mash this weekend. I'll probably do my first all grain sometime next month!

The first PM batch will be a clone of Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier. Wish me luck!

So the partial mash went well, but for the amount of work that went into it, I think it would almost be just as easy to do an all-grain batch.

lol the first time I did a partial mash I thought the same thing.. it's the exact same process you're just mashing with more grain and more water, the times are all the same. I guess the only thing is verifying your efficiency and for consistency's sake, you could always cheat if your wort pre-boil gravity is lower than you need by adding a little extract.
