Autosport report that fans waiting for a HD version of F1 2009 will be a bit disappointed, as the game will only be releasing on Nintendo Wii and Sony PSP for this year’s edition. Then, for the 2010 edition, the game will be getting HD graphics and more sophisticated modes when it hits Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.

The Wii and PSP versions of the game will however be fully up to date, with all the new teams and tracks sorted, along with the new KERS boost system, the slick tyre rules, and the new look cars with altered aerodynamic regulations all in effect.

“Codemasters has a great heritage when it comes to racing games and their reputation is second to none,” said F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone. “We’re working very closely together on the upcoming Formula 1 titles and are very impressed with what we have seen.”

Jenson Button, who currently sits atop of the Drivers Championship added: “F1 computer games and circuit simulations can be invaluable for racing drivers so it’s great news that our fans will also be able to experience the BGP 001 through this game.”

F1 2009 for PSP and Wii is set to be released this autumn.
