How does this stack up against the Kino release for A/V?

I haven't seen the Kino to compare but I've been watching this Turbine version and am very happy with it so far. Some very nicely resolved grain and detail, nice highlights, and even the 90s CG doesn't stand out as much as it seems to in lots of other similar era films. Both the Kino version and this one claim that they are director approved, which suggests to me they're probably the same? I doubt he would have approved two different versions of the same film. It's possible the encoding has been handled by different teams though.
