ugh, should have just used the slipcover artwork (which they ruined with the silver banner... as is long lasting shout factory tradition)
yeah, that wouldve been perfect. good job!I asked a professional to make me a custom steelbook with my own design (chosen the front, back, inside artwork) and a what a beauty. Full Glossy.

It’s a Amazon exclusive they ship worldwide@apsmith21 gb please
I think all of these announced today, and most recent steelbooks, are 'victims' of not obtaining actor likeness rights, which for some unknown to me reason have become necessary. It boggles my mind when boutique labels prefer to spend extra budget on new artwork when we would be much happier with original (poster) art that would also save them on their budget costs.
It's because it's scream factory, that was sony. Boutique label steels are often more expensive than standard major studio's.Really would like to pick this up but it's £46 to get it to the uk, I think return of the living dead was only 35-38ish, I wonder if it's because it's a 3 disc. Might have to splurge out on this.
in fairness, Shout Factory have always been really consistent: Original poster on slipcovers and commissioned artwork for steelbooks. Sometimes they hit and sometimes they miss for me. But we always know what to expect. I don’t really know all the artists Shout uses but certainly not all are unknown. Mexifunk, for example, is known in his field of pop culture art has done several of their steelbooks.I think all of these announced today, and most recent steelbooks, are 'victims' of not obtaining actor likeness rights, which for some unknown to me reason have become necessary.
So they are saving money by getting some relatively unknown artists to draw up some new art specifically avoiding any actor or building or particular places likeness, which could have a copyright...
It's good I actually prefer drawn artworks, over the boring old ones, like that custom steel shown above, so I'm happy with all of these.
