I fully expect Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead to be part of this wave.

Arrow Video lost the distribution rights to Dawn of the Dead 1978
So that one is not possible to get a Re-Print

Night of the Living Dead 1968 is Public Domain due to error by the film distributor when originally released to the cinemas back in 1968
This has been released by lot of low budget film companies DVD/Blu-ray most have been poor quality

Night of the Living Dead 1968 is Public Domain
Copyright status
Night of the Living Dead entered the public domain because the original theatrical distributor, the Walter Reade Organization, neglected to place a copyright indication on the prints. In 1968, United States copyright law required a proper notice for a work to maintain a copyright.[119] Image Ten displayed such a notice on the title frames of the film beneath the original title, Night of the Flesh Eaters. The distributor removed the statement when it changed the title.[3][120]

A limited number of theatrical release prints were distributed by Walter Reade and these copies could have been shelved if Romero and Image Ten had elected to do so. This would have given Romero the opportunity to rename the film, do a few brief "creative" edits, and then obtain a new copyright. But this was never done and the theatrical releases continued to be distributed until eventually reprinted and distributed by home video distributors.

Because of the public domain status, the film is sold on home video by many distributors. As of 2012, the Amazon.com lists copies of Night of the Living Dead numbering 52 on VHS, 181 on DVD, and 9 on Blu-ray.[121] The original film is available to view or download free on Internet sites, such as Google Videos, Internet Archive, Hulu, and YouTube.[122][123][124][125] As of December 1, 2012, it is the Internet Archive's second-most-downloaded film, with over a million downloads

It's so rubbish that this is going to be the only one in the series to have a steelbook. It'd be like having Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade without ever having the first two films :(

It's also a bit of a random choice to even select this as a steelbook if they know they can't do the full set?! There's always a catch when you're collecting steel books

ordered this to sit next to my land and survival of the dead German steelbooks, hopefully the others in the series will see steelbook releases somewhere.

Just a thought: Arrow could always release this steelbook with three disc holders. That way collectors can put in discs for the other two films. Since all three of them are referenced on the cover, it could work.

The Amaray version had 3 discs, a Blu-ray and 2 DVDs, in their description for extras Zavvi is listing extras from the 3 discs, could be wrong though and just be the 1 disc or 2 discs.

Maybe they can complete the trilogy - Arrow may well be at work on gaining the rights to the other two; equally, it's not beyond the studios to regain the copyright whether it is in the public domain now or not.
If the original studio exists, as it stands, they can claim 'intellectual property rights' - it's a long and tortuous process, but possible, and has been done before.

Would be nice to have a set of them but if they don't have the rights have to wait and see but wouldn't hope too much ah well still a nice steel for the collection

I wouldn't take too much notice of their description, unless they really are releasing a five hour cut of the film....
