AJ Masthay hits another home run this Wednesday!
AJ's newest gig poster diptych for Dead and Co.’s final tour is an absolute blast. Combining baseball, the Grateful Dead, and tons of fun Easter eggs and call-backs to AJ’s oft-used characters, this set of prints is a grand slam.
AJ had this to say about his posters: "To say I had fun with this one is an understatement. First it’s a nod to the iconic 1980 Warfield and Radio City posters by Dennis Larkin & Peter Barsotti with the leaning skeletons on the venue facade. Second, and perhaps more important, it’s my love letter to Shakedown Street and the lot scene pioneered by Deadheads. For those that don’t know I started my poster career slinging prints in the lots just trying to get from one show to the next. Those were fun times and little did I know it would lead to me being able to create art for some of the greatest musicians to ever live. Crazy."
