Dead Rising is a action-adventure, survival horror video game with RPG elements developed by Capcom and produced by Keiji Inafune.

Dead Rising's story centers on Frank West, a photojournalist who ends up trapped in a shopping mall in the fictional town of Willamette, Colorado, that is infested with zombies. Frank must defend himself from zombie attacks, rescue survivors and avoid crazed psychopaths, while still attempting to uncover the truth behind the incident. The player controls Frank as he explores the mall, using any available object as a weapon. The player can complete several main and optional missions to earn experience points and gain special abilities. The game is designed as a sandbox game and features several endings, depending on the decisions the player makes along the way.

That seems like a small background, at E3 they had a huge mural with actors dressed as zombies and one of them was in a cage. You could take a picture it was really cool.

Mobius, I saw that deal, but Newegg will charge me taxes and shipping so by the end of the checkout it will cost me as much as going to Best Buy lol I'll just wait for Amazon to do some type of deal.

It was a pretty small area, with no people dressed up as zombies, but games are still finding their place at Comic Con. They were moved again this year, unlike a lot of the booths that are always in the same place.

Take a look at this!!

If the North American special edition of Dead Rising 2 wasn't good enough for you, you'll likely love Capcom's High Stakes Edition, packed with swag and available now for preorder via the Capcom Store while supplies last.

This is the ultimate collector's edition for Dead Rising 2 fans, and it's only available in extremely limited quantities from the Capcom Store. For $89.99 for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions, you'll score a copy of the game, a lovely Dead Rising 2 poker set complete with blood stained dealer chip and playing cards, a Fortune City Visitor Map, and a code for redeeming the Psycho costume and skills downloadable content.

On top of all that, one lucky winner will find a Golden Terror is Reality XVII ticket, which can be redeemed for a six foot tall replica of Burt the Zombie.

Here's the full list of what's included:

Dead Rising 2 Game (Xbox 360 or PS3)

Capcom's Inafune keen to work with Dead Rising 2 dev again

Dead Rising 2 producer Keiji Inafune has let slip that he would welcome the idea of working with Canadian-based studio Blue Castle Games again if the opportunity should arise.

Inafune’s comments come following an interview with IGN, where the site quizzed him as to whether or not Blue Castle would return for a potential sequel to Dead Rising 2:

“Well, we’re not going to start even speaking about DR3 until we see the sales of DR2– unfortunately that’s the nature of the game. However, the experience with Blue Castle was very positive, and if we have the opportunity I would like to work with them again.”

Set five years after the original zombie slaying extravaganza, Dead Rising 2 casts players in the shoes of former motocross champion Chuck Greene, who must survive for 72 hours while trapped inside an undead infested Fortune City. Here, Greene must battle hordes of flesh-hungry corpses, rescue any civilians and attempt to procure the virus suppressant Zombrex for his infected daughter, Katey.

Dead Rising 2 will be shambling on to store shelves across Europe on September 24. A U.S. release follows on September 28.

Capcom says it isn't "alienating" PS3 fans over Dead Rising 2 DLC

Capcom has denied that the Japanese giant is “alienating” PlayStation 3 owners following the announcement of exclusive downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Dead Rising 2.

The publisher announced during its Tokyo Game Show press event last week that it would be bringing the mini-chapter Case: West exclusively to the 360, which pairs Dead Rising 2 protagonist Chuck Greene with original zombie killer Frank West.

However, co-producer Shinsaku Ohara insists that this isn’t a case of giving PS3 owners the short end of the stick; rather, it’s Capcom’s way of thanking gamers who purchased and subsequently facilitated the success of the original Dead Rising on Microsoft’s console four years ago.

“I think [Keiji] Inafune said that we’re sorry that it seems like you’re getting a little bit less of the Dead Rising 2 universe, but you’ll still be able to enjoy the full game,” Ohara told Eurogamer.

“You’ll just miss a little bit of extra. We haven’t completely alienated PS3 gamers because Dead Rising 2 is a standalone boxed product.”

“At the beginning we didn’t know that this new IP would be a success, but the fans on the console really assisted in making it into one.”

“So it’s like a present, something that we gave back to the original Dead Rising fans.”

Furthermore, Blue Castle Games’ Rob Barrett was quick to note that the story for the zombie sequel was designed to be complete without the addition of the recently released prologue Case: Zero and epilogue Case: West.

“The game was completely designed to be a self-contained and enjoyable experience, beginning to end, regardless of the prologue and the epilogue,” commented Barrett.

This is the dumbest thing I've heard from these guys. Does he know that the original was a console exclusive for a while? obviously, thats the reason why the xbox 360 sold more copies. Plus, any exclusive game from MS gets publicity everywhere and if they could they would projected in your dreams lol

Yeah. Too bad people we can't just not buy the game and email them and tell them to stop being ****** or we wont buy.

DR1 game is STILL only 360 exclusive.

Dead Rising 2 'Sports Fan Skills Pack' Out Today

Continuing the range of themed costume packs for Dead Rising 2 this week is the Sports Fan Skills Pack, which grants Chuck a variety of different perks, such as the ability to deal increased damage while using sports-themed items like golf clubs, golf balls, basketballs and so on.

Footballs, basketballs and other sports balls also bounce for longer than usual before stopping, giving Chuck the opportunity to hit far more zombies than he normally would be able to with a throw. Chuck also has a new charge and tackle attack for rushing zombies and taking them down fast.

And finally, with the Sports Fan Skills Pack, Chuck will also earn more money from gambling and can drink excessively without getting sick. Food and drink items will also give him more health. The Sports Fan Skills Pack is out later today on the PlayStation Network in North America and is out tomorrow in Europe for $1.99/£1.59. Next week's Ninja Skills Pack will be the final skills pack.
