Now Streaming Dexter: Original Sin [Paramount+]

Wall Street Journal reports, “The network has ordered an origin-story prequel to Dexter, a serial-killer drama that dates back to 2006. Showtime is also exploring separate spinoffs based on the back stories of compelling Dexter characters, including the Trinity Killer.”

“The origin story will be set in Dexter’s hometown of Miami, and will touch on stories of real-life serial killers of the time period,” the site’s report continues.

UPDATE: The prequel series is officially titled “Dexter: Origins.”

Ehh, if you watch Dexter now, it's like a prequel itself, being 17 years old. I mean, a 17 year old anything in 1997 would've been from... 1980! But 2006 seems recent.

Loved the original show and the recent New Blood, but an origins story doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Man! This and New Blood totally ruined my complete boxed set series. I think they should have just left it alone, but it is a damn good show to say the least. One of my favorites.

A little disappointed that their continuing this series because it kills my complete series box set so now it won't be complete but I do wanna see this.

I just think they gave enough of Dexter's backstory growing up in the main series that this feels slightly redundant
