Do you let your friends/family borrow your steelbooks?

The only person who I'll let borrow my steelbooks, is my best friend, simply because I am 100% confident that if he damaged them, he'd replace them, even if that means paying crazy Ebay prices.


Aside from that, I'll just let anyone else borrow the disc, I'll just stick it in a CD case or something.

My family can borrow the disc though. I just put it in a CD jewel case. My friends I don't really trust with either steelbooks or discs

Nope. I have a empty 6-disc G1 Steelbook (when they were still on Amazon.de). There's only one person who borrows my BD, and I just put it in the 6-discer. That case is more at his place then at mine

no, I lent my mate a DVD once and he lost it how the hell do you lose it between a mile from mine to his. If he lost a steelbook I'd end up behind bars

Agree with what most of you are saying but i do have one mate who likes steelbooks and collects the odd one, him i have no problem lending them to as i know he will look after it or replace it if he breaks it. Apart from him then hell no they just get the disc!

No, I usually get the amaray version since I do not like to open my steels. So with that being said people can borrow my amarays but that's about it.

Gave my stepson my copy of From Dusk Till Dawn, it's all scratched and even has a couple of dents now. Hopefully he didn't ask for Iron Man

Nope, I always take out the discs and put them in a generic case before lending out my films. I do this even with non-Steelbooks because I am that OCD about my collection.

No way! If a friend or family member says have you got this movie I just say nope! Becomes a major problem if they see my collection!! If the steelbook has been opened, then it's discs only!

Never ever would I lend a steelbook to a friend, just not worth the trouble if (when) they damage it.

To be honest I think this is one of the most idiotic questions to ask here.... We're all mental about steelbooks, do you really think we're going to let some mere ordinary man touch our babies?!?! The only person I trust is another collector and even then they'll just get the discs!

steelbooks, digibooks, slipcases... they all stay with me. happy to let an amaray case go out but anything damagable? nope. they get a spare case with the disc in.
its not worth the fall out.

I keep all the cases and put the disc in a empty jewel case. It is just much easier that way.

I'm really anal and ocd when it comes to my steeblooks so no. I usually take out the disc and give to them in some cracked amaray case I have lying around.
