The only person who I'll let borrow my steelbooks, is my best friend, simply because I am 100% confident that if he damaged them, he'd replace them, even if that means paying crazy Ebay prices.

Aside from that, I'll just let anyone else borrow the disc, I'll just stick it in a CD case or something.

if my friends, need to borrow a movie (which I seldom lend anyway) they only get the disc in a generic CD case...they don't really need to bring the steelbook...why would they? or they can always watch in my house.

NO WAY!!! I have empty amaray cases I put the disc in. people do not understand how easy these are to damage. I won't even let anybody touch them anymore. The first time I let my friend look at at one, when he was done he just threw it down on the table. Of course I went off on him.

The worst case is when (and i've been victim to this) is when mates or family then lend YOUR stuff to other people

There are a few select close friends i would lend stuff to (all members of this forum as well) with no concern

Besides, i just invite people round to watch them anyway

I don't even loan my amaray cased blu's to my friends. They can't be trusted. Their DVD's and Blu's look like they've gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson. I don't understand how they let them get like that when they're just sat on a shelf.

lol even my own kids know not to go near them!!!!!

I've been through that, one of them was looking through the racks, and about 8 steelbooks came crashing to the floor, got a nice big scratch on my Resident Evil: Afterlife steelbook, had to be the spine as well.......

My racks are now located above the sofa, so if they do fall, at least they get a soft landing lol.

Also, had both of them come in from the park one morning, and both stood on my 'Rise of the planet of the apes' steelbook, which had come through the letter box that morning. Luckily the packaging survived, and it was alright.

Once I did and never again as some people have no respect for steelbooks my friend being one. No idea how he managed to get 3 dints and 4 scratches all over my despicable me import. Now he gets just the disc in a wallet.
