Dredd (2012) - Best 2D transfer?

Hey All,

I know Dredd was made as a 3D film, but I was wondering if any country has a decent 2D release?
I've got the UK Amaray, and the 2D encode is rather poor IMO. Are there any countries out there with better 2D encodes?

The one I watch 2D is the Japanese one which is a great transfer and region free

As @bigfub just said Japan , French is good too as is the Netherlands NOT tryed the German YET .

I too have the JP release and there is No issues with it. Watched it 3 times with no problems

French 2D version is spot on, however only 5.1 whereas the JP version is 7.1

The 2D HK disc does feature a 96KHz Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio. Not seen any reviews for it so can't comment on it really. But the general jist of that the French / Japanese editon are superior AV wise

If it was made as a 3D movie, why then not have a 3D Disk for the 3D version Only ?

All versions out there at the exception of Japan and France have both version of the movie on the same Disk, why go this route for this movie it is not usual to do so(even though there have been some made previously). why is Dredd only on 1 Disk for both version everywhere if it was made as a 3D movie ?

Japan 2D Only PQ Best
France 3D + 2D + DVD = 3 separate Disk for each version = Best Quality
why all others do 2D+3D on same Disk ???

The German 2D disc is pretty good, I would rate it the same as the French one.
