The Iron Tooth marks the debut for the first phase of the revamped mystical land of Sharandar -- originally introduced in Neverwinter’s first ever module in 2013, Fury of the Feywild -- where adventurers will find the Ruins of Malabog adventure zone, New Sharandar social hub, Vault of Stars end-game dungeon, along with epic enemies and rewards. The next episode, Episode 2: The Soul Keeper, will launch on PC in April and on consoles in May.

“The Iron Tooth strikes a balance between new and old, as it not only preserves the spirit of Sharandar that Neverwinter fans have come to love, but also brings several new features that all adventurers will enjoy,” said Chris Whiteside, Neverwinter’s executive producer. “The Neverwinter community has asked for more evolving worlds to explore, so we’re very excited for adventurers to enter the mystical lands of the Fey once again like never before.”

Across three epic episodes, Neverwinter’s newest module has players return to Sharandar to end the unsettling darkness creeping across the Feywild and the area’s age-old elven stronghold. The Iron Tooth, introduces new and returning players to the Feywild lands of Sharandar, where they must head to the Ruins of Malabog to investigate the disappearance of an elven dignitary. With loutish creatures that will kill any foolish enough to enter the ruins, players will need to join forces to successfully be Protectors of the Feywild and rise against the darkness.
Players will also discover that deep in the forest, a coven of ancient hags have claimed the lands around Sharandar and gathered scattered bands of Malabog’s minions and other creatures long ignored by the Fey courts. In The Iron Tooth, players must band together to enter the lair of the foul Annis Hag, the first of Sharandar’s three menacing hags, in the Ruins of Malabog. To stand a chance against the hags in each episode of Sharandar, players need to enter the Vault of Stars to steal a fragment of the powerful Night Diamond from the Queen of Air and Darkness, an entity of great power.
Episode 1: The Iron Tooth introduces plenty of playable content and exciting updates for PC players to explore. A full list of game features released with today’s update includes:

  • New Sharandar Social Hub - The Iliyanbruen elves of New Sharandar have taken the time after King Malabog's defeat to rebuild their stronghold, making it a haven for travelers and fey creatures alike.
  • Annis Hag Lair - The foul Annis Hag has made a lair for herself in the Ruins of Malabog. Do you dare enter its depth to confront this horrid hag?
  • Vault of Stars End-Game Dungeon - The Gloaming Court is ruled by the Queen of Air and Darkness, a formless entity of great power. But she keeps within the Vault of Stars a powerful magical item known as the Night Diamond. Could this be the key to defeating the hags?
While pushing back the darkness in the epic new Sharandar campaign in Episode 1: The Iron Tooth, players can also earn new rewards including the Forest Guardian’s armor set, the Sparkling Fey Emblem artifact and the Blink Dog companion.
The next two episodes, Episode 2: The Soul Keeper and Episode 3: The Odious Court will continue the story of Neverwinter: Sharandar. Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios are thrilled to reveal that an all-new class, the adventurous and multiskilled Bard class, will be added to Neverwinter in its next major module launching later this year on PC and consoles. The Bard class will be the first new class to join the critically-acclaimed Dungeons & Dragons free-to-play action MMORPG since the Oathbound Paladin class was introduced in 2016.

Neverwinter players who choose the Bard class can become daring heroes who possess the ability to weave magic into their swords and use music to inspire allies, manipulate minds and even heal wounds. Bards dress to impress, carry an instrument -- like a trusty lute -- for performances and never leave the tavern without a rapier or cutlass at their hip.

With the ability to be Songblades and Minstrels (the two Paragon Paths for the class) no two Bards will be exactly alike, as the class will offer one of the largest selection of spells and playstyles Neverwinter has to offer.
  • Songblades: Stylish swashbucklers who are as charming as they are deadly, that can dispatch their foes in style with swordplay, magic and music. This path is for those who want to be damage dealers who are comfortable close and mid range, and who want to make use of dramatic spells and supporting songs to enhance their natural combat ability.
  • Minstrels: Master musicians who prefer to use the power of their instrument to support their allies from afar with songs of bardic inspiration. These healers can also use music to unleash psychic attack spells and illusions.
Regardless of the Paragon Path adventurers choose, every Bard has an arsenal of unique abilities that will make them a versatile and powerful party member.
More class details, including the launch date, will be revealed soon.

In Neverwinter: Sharandar’s final episode, Episode 3: The Odious Court -- launching on PC on June 8 and on Xbox One and PlayStation®4 July 6 -- adventurers travel to the Dark Fey Mire to investigate the fetid swamp tainted by the mysterious dark magic of Velma the Bonegrinder, a deceitful Green Hag, and her sisters from the Odious Court. With frog-like humanoids called Grungs and aggressive Dryads claiming the area as their own, adventurers need to restore safety to the region -- all the while uncovering the role of the Odious Court. In addition to new story content, the last episode also brings exciting new features to New Sharandar, including an epic battle against a coven of menacing hags from all three episodes of the Neverwinter: Sharandar module, new bounties, new heroic encounters, new rewards and much more.

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios are excited to announce that the epic conclusion of Neverwinter’s Sharandar module, Episode 3: The Odious Court, is now available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Arc Games). The final episode will also be available on Xbox One and PlayStation®4 on July 6. This new episode brings the completion of the revamped mystical land of Sharandar -- originally introduced in Neverwinter’s first ever module, Fury of the Feywild -- and also introduces new areas to explore in a re-imagined adventure zone, an epic battle against all three of the menacing hags, new bounties, new heroic encounters, new rewards and much more.

In Episode 3: The Odious Court, adventurers travel to the Dark Fey Mire to investigate the fetid swamp tainted by the mysterious dark magic of Velma the Bonegrinder, a deceitful Green Hag, and her sisters from the Odious Court. After the defeat of the witch fen at the hands of Iliyanbruen elves and adventurers from Neverwinter, frog-like humanoids called Grungs have moved into the area and claimed it as their own. A copse of aggressive Dryads recently pushed out of the mended grove from an unknown threat have also taken refuge within. To push back the darkness in New Sharandar once and for all, adventurers must band together to restore safety to the mystical land, and uncover the role of the Odious Court.
Across this new campaign, by taking on new bounties and challenging heroic encounters, adventurers will need to take on Velma the Bonegrinder’s deadly servants across the Dark Fey Mire. To completely rid the darkness in New Sharandar, however, heroes will need to enter the Green Hag’s lair to face the final battle, a deadly fight against all three hags: Granny Necksnapper, the Annis Hag, Mathilda Soulstealer, the Night Hag and last but not least, Velma the Bonegrinder, the Green Hag.

Today, Perfect World Entertainment Inc., a leading publisher of online games, and Cryptic Studios announced that Neverwinter’s 21st module, Jewel of the North, is now available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and Arc Games) and will arrive on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One later next month. This major update allows all adventurers – whether new, returning or veteran adventurers – the opportunity to experience all of the epic content the free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons® MMORPG has to offer like never before. For the first time since 2016, Neverwinter introduces a brand-new class, the iconic and multi-skilled Bard, which hails from the original pen and paper adventure game. Jewel of the North also features major quality of life improvements, including a new streamlined leveling system which makes content more accessible for adventurers of all experience levels, making this the best time for gamers to play Neverwinter.

With Jewel of the North, we wanted to make it easier than ever for players to create a character and set out on adventures throughout the Forgotten Realms,” said Matt Powers, Executive Producer for Neverwinter. “The leveling experience has been streamlined, now better aligning with the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop experience, and we’re extremely excited to bring the highly-expressive Bard class to Neverwinter.”
Neverwinter: Jewel of the North introduces an all-new class, the Bard, inspired by the popular Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition class archetype. Neverwinter adventurers who choose the Bard become daring heroes who possess the ability to weave magic into their swords, inspire allies with music, manipulate minds, and heal wounds. Adventurers will find that the Bard stands out due to its Perform Mode that lets them play a variety of songs that can enhance, heal, or hurt their targets, and its Free Perform Mode in which Bards can use their equipped instrument to freely create and play their own songs for other adventurers to enjoy.
Along with the new class, Neverwinter: Jewel of the North brings major game-changing improvements that make it easier for all adventurers to access and enjoy all of the content available in Neverwinter. With the new streamlined leveling system which follows the beloved system found in Dungeons & Dragons, the max level cap in Neverwinter has transitioned from level 80 to level 20. This allows new and returning adventurers to reach epic-level content much faster (in approximately 10-12 hours) and gives veteran adventurers the option to quickly level up their alternate characters. Additional notable improvements geared towards providing a greater experience for all adventurers include the new Adventures feature, two new locations (the Adventurer’s Guild and Training Room) and revamped tutorials and early game performance improvements.
Below is a detailed list of key features:
  • New Bard Class – Inspired by the iconic and multi-skilled Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition class, the new class for Neverwinter weaves together quick, deadly swordplay and powerful magical ballads into an orchestra of destruction for enemies and boons for themselves and allies. The class offers two unique Paragon Paths for players to choose from:
  • Songblade - Charming swashbucklers who dispatch their foes in style with swordplay, magic, and music. This path is for those who want to be close and mid-range damage dealers, and who want to make use of dramatic spells and supporting songs to enhance their natural combat ability.
  • Minstrel - Master musicians who support allies from afar with songs of bardic inspiration. These healers can also use music to create psychic attacks and illusions.
  • New Streamlined Leveling System - Following the beloved system found in Dungeons & Dragons, the max level cap has transitioned from level 80 to level 20, making it easier for all adventurers to experience the many adventures available within the Forgotten Realms in Neverwinter.
  • New Adventures Feature - A new and intuitive way to play through content, track progress, and get some great rewards. The Adventures feature allows adventurers to know what to explore and experience next as they continue their epic journey.
  • Major Quality of Life Improvements: All adventurers can prepare and be ready for their many adventures thanks to the following new improvements:
    • Two New Locations:
  • The Adventurer’s Guild - Located in Protector’s Enclave, the guild serves as place for all the greatest adventurers to meet, train, and claim their hard-earned rewards.
  • The Training Room - A special demiplane created by the wizards of the Adventurer’s Guild where adventurers can hone their skills and explore combat systems using a variety of modifiers.
  • Revamped Tutorialization - New tutorials, messaging and visuals have been added for new and returning adventurers to better understand what it takes to be a true adventurer in Neverwinter.
  • Neverember Recruitment Event - During Neverember’s Recruitment event, any new characters who log in during this event will earn extra rewards, such as rare mounts and companions, while leveling as well as Neverember Incentives, which can be exchanged for account-wide rewards.

Today, Gearbox Publishing and Cryptic Studios announced that Neverwinter’s 25th module, Menzoberranzan will launch on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles on March 28. The upcoming major update for the free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG will bring the epic conclusion of the two-part storyline and campaign written in collaboration with New York Times best-selling author R.A. Salvatore and Geno Salvatore --- that was first introduced in the previous module, Northdark Reaches. For the first time ever in Neverwinter, players will be able to explore the drow city of Menzoberranzan, the fabled home of the legendary Dungeons & Dragons character Drizzt Do’Urden. Inspired by R.A. Salvatore’s hit trilogy book series, The Way of the Drow, players will encounter beloved D&D characters, including Drizzt, and experience the events that occur between the final two books, Glacier’s Edge and Lolth's Warrior.

Following the events of Northdark Reaches, Jarlaxle Baenre, leader of the Bregan D'aerthe mercenary company, has returned to the legendary City of Spiders, Menzoberranzan, after being reunited with the illustrious scout Braelin Janquay. The stench of civil war looms on the horizon, and rumors of a long-forgotten artifact threaten to turn the tides in Lolth's favor. The Underdark will succumb to chaos if such power falls into the wrong hands. To stop the civil war from becoming a reality, you’ll need to join the ex-drider forces of the Blaspheme and delve into the darkness once more to save the great city of Menzoberranzan!

Heroes brave enough to answer Jarlaxle Baenre’s call for aid will discover plenty of new content within Neverwinter, including the new Menzoberranzan Adventure Zone. For surviving the deadly streets of the famed drow city, players will need to avoid drow patrols and evade assassins that await you. While exploring this region of the Underdark, expect to discover new quests, encounter both friend and foe in challenging battles – including heroic encounters -- and unearth epic rewards as you explore epic locations across Menzoberranzan in the Underdark of Faerûn.
In celebration of Neverwinter's 10-year anniversary, Dungeons & Dragons fans and Neverwinter players alike can challenge the beholder deity Gzemnid and claim rare treasures. After being drawn to the power of a powerful artifact of calamitous potential, the Eye of Odran, Gzemnid has taken physical form within his reliquary, and eagerly awaits those brave and foolish enough to face a beholder god. Along with this trial, quality of life improvements, such as balancing updates to companions, new Insignia-specific updates to the mount system and new rewards for all appointment store events will be included in the new module.
