Breaking Bad” may have had its finale in 2013, but Variety has confirmed that series creator Vince Gilligan is working on a new film with ties to the beloved series.

Gilligan is working on a two-hour film, though whether it’s destined for multiplexes or television is unclear.

Details are sparse, with no information on what shape the movie would take — a prequel like “Better Call Saul” or something else — or whether any of “Breaking Bad’s” stars will return. The Albuquerque Journal includes a logline stating the film “tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”

The Journal also reports the title as “Greenbriar,” though whether that’s the final title is in the air as well. Production in the Duke City is scheduled to begin mid-November through early February, according to the Journal.

@Noodles Man you're fast! :OMG: I just read the news and was about to post it! :banghead: :wacky:

At first I wasn't behind the idea of Better Call Saul. But that turned out to be an incredible and worthy show to the BB brand  Unlike The Walking Dead, I know we'll get GREAT quality with this film  “tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.” YEAH B*TCH!!! :woot:

Haha it was literally the first thing I saw when turning on my PC this morning. :p

But, yeah... I'm a little hesitant in all honesty, as I think Breaking Bad ended perfectly and there's no real reason to continue the story (if that's what they're doing).

Chances are it's going to be some sort of spin-off though, which I'm definitely up for! Anything Vince touches turns to gold to be fair. :notworthy:

Vince Gilligan is freaking King Midas!:D But yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing what happened to Jessie after Walt rescued him. Did he reunite with Brock? Hope to see Badger and Skinny Pete! ;)

I saw this news last night on a couple of ABQ News sites, but just put it down to being clickbait we are used to seeing all the time about Breaking Bad.

This is going to be great! After BCS, I really trust them.

Hmm am REALLY not sure about this,,,,it was probably the only TV with a great and satisfying ending....a movie, unless by way of a spin off, would likely ruin it IMO. Even then, it’s sketchy

‘Breaking Bad’ Movie Headed To Netflix & AMC

EXCLUSIVE: Vince Gilligan’s Breaking Bad movie continues to be shrouded in secrecy, but I hear it will air on Netflix and AMC, which also carries Gilligan’s Emmy-winning series.

No one would comment, but word is that the two networks might have their roles reversed, with Netflix taking first window and AMC second. The Breaking Bad series aired originally on AMC, with seasons subsequently made available for streaming on Netflix.

For Netflix and AMC to share the Breaking Bad follow-up is fitting as the two outlets share the credit for the success of the original series. Gilligan acknowledged the streamer’s contribution in his acceptance speech for the series’ first best drama series Emmy win in 2013.

Not really sure if I want this or not  BB ended perfectly for me ( Ok didn't want to see Walt die, or did we ) But not really sure if I want to see a movie based on it with him not involved.

Yeah... the more I think about it, the more unnecessary I think a continuation of Jesse's story would be. I liked that they kinda left it open for the audience to make up their own mind about where he went from there. But then again... Gilligan is a mastermind and would no doubt deliver something completely amazing!
