Yeah, they did the same with the other release... yet other retailers still had it listed and there's been no mention of people having those orders cancelled yet. Can't for the life of me remember which title it was now though.Well they removed listing page try link above hmv noodles
And I have to be honest can't keep listing x amount then think
Let's do a reprint, studio are bang out of order here.
Otherwise they may as well stop saying limited print of x
They will soon piss off all collectors that have bought on those terms
Don't mean to sound a dick. But good. I hope they cancelled it. Buying something that's listed as limited to 2000 and then it getting reissued really pisses me off.
It'll all be automated... as soon as they remove the item from their release schedule, it'll automatically get cancelled for all who ordered.Yes, they did, but cancelled my order anyway!
If they just release a steelbook that isn't numbered. Fine release 10,000, release a million I don't care. But if you really something that specifically says limited to however many. Then it's really ******* ****** to do a rerun.I'll probably be in the minority here, but ..............I really have to disagree. Some people at the time, like myself, were in hospital and didn't get the chance to get it. Other people maybe didn't have enough funds at the time, and now do. There are a number of reasons. I really don't understand, as a member of a community like this, why you wouldn't like the thought of someone being able to get a copy to enjoy it as much as the other person so they wouldn't have to buy it on an auction site at inflated scalper prices.
It's not that we don't want genuine collectors to own a copy, it's that the studios lie about it being limited... just simply don't say that and there'd be no complaints.I'll probably be in the minority here, but ..............I really have to disagree. I can shed some light on this. It has been cancelled by HMV. I wasn't happy with this release for the same reason @JinxyKatte @Noodles has mentioned here.
I raised a detailed complaint a few weeks ago. We as collectors deserve to be treated with respect and the upcoming sale of this product would have broken UK marketing regulations. I wrote to HMV citing these issues in more detail.
They immediately opened an investigation. I've waited roughly two weeks for a response and I thought it only fair I share it with you all.

I'm sorry to dissapoint anyone that ordered this re-released set, however I believe that once something has been sold as a limited product, that should be adhered to. I hope this will be a positive step moving forward for us collectors. Whilst I cannot speak for all retailers just yet, HMV & seemingly WB have restored some faith in adhering to UK regulations and just as importantly, listening to their customers. I applaud them for doing so.
Thanks. I remember the Zavvi Inglorious Basterds incident. That always stuck with me, as I'd not long started collecting again. Didn't want to see it again so I'm super glad that they listened! You deserve a round of applause for this. Well done for highlighting such a blatant attempt to obfuscate the public and more importantly collectors. It was dead wrong to try and pull a swift one and I'm glad it's been flagged. Hopefully the greedy toerags either at the front end suppliers or at the corporate office never try this bait and switch again.
It was scummy.
That certainly explains a lot then. Kudos to both yourself and hmv... can't imagine Zavvi and/or Amazon would go to those efforts or even care.I can shed some light on this. It has been cancelled by HMV. I wasn't happy with this release for the same reason @JinxyKatte @Noodles has mentioned here.

I'd have to totally agree. I'm not sure I'd of even attempted with either to be honest. Although if HMVs response is to be taken at face value... Zavvi and Amazon may be about to have it pulled from them. That certainly explains a lot then. Yeah, obviously my previous assumption about the studio reaching out to them was very wrong and would explain why other retailers are yet to pull these releases... will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to receive the message though.I'd have to totally agree. Zavvi showing as sold out (don't think it was previously) so you may be right in the assumption they've reached out to all of them already...Yeah, obviously my previous assumption about the studio reaching out to them was very wrong and would explain why other retailers are yet to pull these releases... will be interesting to see how long it takes for them to receive the message though.
I would have to disagree, we all miss things due to unfortunate circumstances, i'm sorry to hear of having to go to hospital but if something is sold as limited to 2000, it should always remain as that and not resold.I'll probably be in the minority here, but ..............I really have to disagree. Maybe to keep everyone happy, put 2nd edition on box or something and it not be numbered.

Thanks a lot @Basil , nice to hear from you. Yes, I agree with your sentiment, especially around hopefully making them think twice, or even preventing such situations in the future. The more I think about it, the more I realise (if it sticks), what a huge financial decision this is & could prove to be for WB.well done you glad to see someone standing up for the little man
as collectors we all buy on x number of copies and if that means nothing we stand on a slippery slope
if they started with this they be setting a new thing they can start doing again and again.
so nipping this is the bud was a very good thing you did and i applaud you
i know chances of keep winning are slim but keep up the good work
as for the chap in hospital then i do feel sorry for him but unfortunately life does get in the way of sometimes of buying all the releases and then we have to hunt for the odd one later on the secondary market, not good for you i know.
but keep reprinting is a very bad thing for collectors my own view, i just dont like it. after all if its not limited whats the point????
that makes it part of the huge draw to get them FOMO
all best

Except is flat out fraud from the initial advertised run of 2000 and I'm glad its getting cancelled. Limited edition should mean something more than just "oooh mine has a sticker and yours doesn't"Great release to be honest. Re release will give a chance to whoever missed out
Didnt read it was getting cancelled. Well im glad it is because yes advertising limited to 2000 and rleeasing the same exact thing is just stupid. No doubt thy will release the steelbook on its own or make a whole new release anw but yes. Good newsExcept is flat out fraud from the initial advertised run of 2000 and I'm glad its getting cancelled. Limited edition should mean something more than just "oooh mine has a sticker and yours doesn't"
All they needed to do was release the steelbook on its own. Leave out the rest for the limited edition and just sell the steel.I don't understand why they don't just make some small visual change, which will then let them claim oh this is totally different from the limited release. Drama avoided.
Alternatively and I know I'm really pushing the boundaries here but why not just use some interesting art on the steelbook instead and actually give people a reason to *want* to purchase?
