I rewatched this last year. It's fine, the production and directing is bloody good, but the story and love triangle are rubbish.
I thought it was ok when it came out. Nowhere near as good as Saving Private Ryan. But I’d rewatch it in 4K.

Oh the time before every story had to deconstruct the protagonist and every antagonist was sympathetic. Where subverting audience expectations was an exception instead of the presumption. I picked up a blu ray of this which I don’t even know where it came from because it wasn’t a uk release blu ray but it’s great to see this film get a steelbook release.
The love triangle stuff is annoying though I can see why they did it but the cat and mouse between Law and Harris is great. It always fascinated me how in these ruined cities a sniper would choose their position and how they would set up decoys and the like.
Anyone know of any films that are similar and worth a watch?
