EyePet Available this Fall with PlayStation Move Support!

Calling all EyePet fans! I’m here to deliver some great news! Some of you may be familiar with EyePet and have had the chance to play with it at various events last year. Well, we made some changes to the game and I am pleased to announce that EyePet is officially back on the calendar, and better than before. Available this Fall, the new version of EyePet will come complete with PlayStation Move support! Instead of using the EyePet Magic Card, players will now be able to interact with their new furry friend using the more intuitive and easy-to-hold PlayStation Move.

The PlayStation Move motion controller can be used in many ways throughout the game. For example, you can engage in a variety of pet care activities such as feeding, washing and styling. With the styling feature, you’ll be able to completely customize your pet such as modifying fur length, color and pattern, as well as outfitting your pet with over 250 unique costumes.

You can also use the motion controller to play various games with your pet. Namely, it allows toys to appear magically in your hands. For example, it could be a bubble wand, a fish net or a trampoline. Other games include bowling, tennis, treadmill and snap.

One of the coolest features of EyePet is the drawing feature where you can utilize the motion controller to create drawings on screen that will turn into 3D objects for your pet to play with.

EyePet delayed until 2010

The interactive pet simulator game EyePet is delayed for its North American release until after the holidays. Listings on GameStop and Amazon have the title’s release date changed from November 2009 to April 2010.

According to a statement from Sony received by Gamervision, the delayed release is largely due to SCEA marketing desires “to continue educating consumers and retail channels, setting the table for a successful product launch.”

Sony has promised to provide further release details as they become available. EyePet is a PlayStation 3 game that uses the PlayStation Eye camera to interact with a pet.

UK EyePet release not affected by US delay

In a rare case of Brits catching a break from the videogame industry, Sony has announced that the UK release of EyePet will not be affected by the annoying 2010 delay that North American gamers have been subjected to. EyePet will be available in time for the holidays, with a release date of October 23.

I really can't fathom SCEA's logic here, unless this is all part of Sony's apparent plan to sabotage every good idea it has. Not having a product like EyePet on store shelves before Christmas is, to put it politely, ****ing ludicrous. EyePet is perhaps Sony's biggest shot at cornering some of the mythical "casual" market, and it looks like it'll be brilliant fun to boot. I get that they want to spend time marketing the thing, but why not start now and be ready in time for Christmas? Or why didn't they think of it sooner? It just doesn't make satisfactory sense to me.

It should be noted that I am genuinely puzzled as to why this isn't coming out before the Holidays, and I'm not just acting out like a little baby because I really wanted to play EyePet and love and cuddle and snorgle it. Also, it should be further noted that we totally broke the EyePet delay story and anybody who doesn't credit us for that is a knob-end.

EyePet proves to be big hit in UK, tops U2, MW2

While EyePet was tragically delayed in the US, joining the PS3's stacked 2010 line up, it did hit shelves earlier this week in Europe. The game looks to be a bit of a surprise hit, according to the popular online retailer Amazon. The £24.99 EyePet/PSEye combo has topped the PS3 charts, leaving tremendously popular titles like Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2, and FIFA 10 in it's dust. The game/Eye Toy combo places at #3 overall.

EyePet is an interactive agumented reality game that lets you take care of a cute monkey/kitten kind of creature. The game was expected to have a lot of casual appeal, and it seems like it's hit it's niche well in the UK. An exact release date for the North American version has yet to be determined.

EyePet sequel comes with new playmate and online community features

If you couldn’t get enough of EyePet first time around, then how about having two of the furry critters running around your living-room causing mayhem?

That’s the plan for the sequel to Sony’s virtual pet nurturing game, EyePet & Friends, which will allow you to look after two pets simultaneously. The official press release confirms that the second game in the series will play much like the last, with players able to dress and groom their pets and play a variety of games in an augmented reality environment.

Unlike EyePet, EyePet & Friends has been built specifically to take advantage of the PlayStation Move controller, which worked extremely well in the updated Move Edition of the first game. Aside from being able to nurture two pets at the same time, there are two major new additions to the sequel. First up, is the Creativity Centre, which will allow players to customisation toys and outfits; and secondly, the EyePet online community, which will host leaderboards and other unconfirmed features.

the first one was fun for about 2 hours.. then its effect wore off. granted i am 23 years old and i could see how this would be more suitable for a younger age group.. as long as the 2nd one is also an easy plat im a shoe in lol

EyePet is back! And this time he’s got company…

EyePet & Friends is coming to your home later this year with double the magic and endless amounts of fun! Be prepared for living rooms across the country to be turned upside-down as not just one, but two lovable EyePets arrive on the scene.

We listened to the feedback from both users and critics alike, and aimed to continue innovating the EyePet experience in a number of areas. Because of our desire to create an even more immersive augmented reality experience, EyePet & Friends is a ground-up re-design that retains the very best of the original EyePet.

We’ve socialized the game, now with two players, two PlayStation Move controllers, two Pets and augmented reality. Raise two on your own or together with a friend, let them hatch together or see if you can handle just one of the mischievous fur balls first – the choice is yours, but don’t forget that two EyePets born together may form a stronger bond with each other.

Life with an EyePet is never dull! With the new EyePet online community, you can show off your pet’s adventures and Trophies online or sit back and relax as you connect with other EyePet owners, swapping tips and tricks on how to get the best out of your playful new family members.

There’s also a whole new world of customizable fun to be had: Need a new toy to keep your furry friend entertained or a new outfit for a special occasion? No problem! Head over to the Creativity Center where you’ll be able to expand the world you and your EyePets live in as you use your Move controller to create and customize your very own content.

However you decide to play, your efforts will be rewarded. Every moment spent nurturing; playing or completing challenges will earn you EyePet Tokens which you can use in the Pet Store to unlock exciting additional content!

If you think you have space for two new virtual furry friends, get ready for the arrival of EyePet & Friends, out later this year.
