First half is kind of boring, but second made even this atheist cry numerous times. Excellent performance by Mark Wahlberg, probably the first time I've seen him as someone else, not as 'Mark Wahlberg'. Best of his career yet!
There's also a pretty good amount of screen time for Mel Gibson, and he's great too. Plus another impeccable showing from Malcolm McDowell.
But the 'antichrist' in me says the whole 'suffering is good' is bs, false advertising, turning a horrible thing into something it's not, to not dissuade people even more.
