[ME#6] Fight Club Steelbook reveal.
Took long time and some difficulties but we are super happy to reveal this artwork. Enjoy!

The steelbook reminds me of a plain archive release with the colours used. Which isn’t a bad thing but I like their original mock up so much it’s just disappointed me even more.

Steel has grown on me a little more over the day but not a huge impact

I really don’t like the image of pitt on the full slip, I imagine the finish will look great but the image ruins it (for me).

And then both lentis work so much better as Full slips. The single also has a plain archive feel. I hate transitional lentis too so if the double is transitional with no depth I’ll be mad.

I’ll most likely go for the double but I’m still not sure.

And the extras have made me so mad, literally 3 postcard images of the most boring pics from the film. Just no thought what so ever

Agree with basically all of this. My first thought when I saw the steelbook was that it looked exactly like what I'd imagine PA would come up with for this title. I'm not a huge fan of the color palette they've chosen, but maybe it'll look more impressive glossed up and in hand.

I think the double lenti would've made for a nice full slip. Matte black with the hot pink parts spot glossed would've been really sharp. I don't mind the back of the current full slip mock up, but the front image just looks off. Manta is capable of churning out some great lentis, but they often seem to shoot themselves in the foot with their art choices. The art on its own is fine, but it doesn't necessarily lend itself to being a good lenticular image (as with the Logan double lenti).

The box is great, but I wish I could just have it as a single full slip to be honest.

Still cautiously optimistic about the final outcome, but definitely not the obvious one-click I thought this would be.

Side note: Manta mentioned the delays as being due to talent difficulty in the approval process. It's pretty clear Pitt is required to be at the front of every cover that features characters (mirroring the Cruise-EoT debacle). They even made them drop the Pitt/Norton mashup from the original steel mock up in favor of a binary Pitt front/Norton back.

i totally agreed with you on (almost) all points I do love the origbal arts way way better but I think because Fox didn’t approve and this is the way Fox allowed it to be ... or beeen cancelled like EOT...

The only thing that perks me up for this is how disappointed I was with la la land beauty shots and the pics of all the steels together made the manta steel the worst looking imo but I love both the full slip and lenti in hand and the steel Is beautiful so the same could work here

Ha I literally text @Noodles last night saying the exact same about the double lenti as a full slip but the black parts in that soft touch that fac use and sometimes zeta with spot gloss on the pinks and the whites normal matte

And yeah would love the pink soap bar as the full slip

Basically keep the original steel but with a pink soap bar full slip. That’s what I was hoping on.

Or after all day of looking at the beauty shots the new steel with that double as a FS. That would make me happy

But was also really hoping on some inventive extras from the film.

I noticed the double lenti is actually different art to the original steel mock up and not split between both characters (which is what made the original art cool and unique)

the art of the new steenbok is quite nice, I like the back with Marla

i will still take the boxset even if the price is mmmmok.. I wish they can drop the price!

No, This release along side Fantastic Beasts were already being manufactured in the current facility.
The Next Ones(Releases in the 2nd Quarter) which are still on the drawing board, those will be made in Denmark.

In their December Updates, they were still working on both Kingsman 2 and Dunkirk and Stated that it should be released in first Quarter.
So First Quarter Schedule Releases: Fantastic Beasts, Fight Club, Kingsman 2 and Dunkirk (of course if there isn't any delay with studio's approval).
