Kino Lorber have dated and detailed the upcoming Film Noir: The Dark Side of Cinema VII (1956-1958) Blu-ray release. The three-disc box set will be available for purchase on June 7.

The Boss (1956)

Description: Coming home at the end of World War I, Matt Brady (John Payne), the black-sheep brother of big-city political boss Tim Brady (Roy Roberts), is a loose cannon who gets into drunken fights and impulsively marries a total stranger, the plain but kind-hearted Lorry (Gloria McGhee). Taking over his brother's political machine after Tim's sudden death, Matt becomes powerful and extremely wealthy, but his corrupt dealings with a local gangster (Robin Morse) threaten to destroy everything he has. Directed by Byron Haskin.

Chicago Confidential (1957)

Description: Brian Keith stars as Jim Fremont, an Illinois States Attorney fighting corrupt unions in Chicago. The union crooks in collaboration with a gambling syndicate try to pin a murder rap on an uncooperative union leader Blane (Dick Foran). Fremont and his co-worker fiancée Laura (Beverly Garland), work to prove Blane's innocence and to punish the true villains. Directed by Sidney Salkow.

The Fearmakers (1958)

Description: After two years as a Korean War POW, Alan Eaton (Dana Andrews) returns home, where the Washington, D.C., PR firm he co-founded was sold to Jim McGinnis (Dick Foran) just before Alan's partner died in a car accident. Invited to stay as a consultant, Alan grows suspicious when his friend Sen. Walder (Roy Gordon) tells him he suspects the company has become a propaganda outlet. Fearing his partner may have been murdered, Alan discovers McGinnis is behind an anti-nuclear-power communist plot. Directed by Jacques Tourneur.
