This limited collector's edition comprises:

  • Two disks in a stylish digipak, one UHD and one Blu-ray with the content duplicated across both formats, with English, French, Italian, Spanish, German subtitles on each version of the film.
  • A rigid box featuring brand new artwork by UK illustrator Tommy Pocket.
  • An extensive booklet containing new essays and reproduced material from the Hammer archives.
  • Facsimile reproductions of the UK and US pressbooks and a double-sided poster.
The disks features:

  • New commentary with film and media historian Melanie Williams and film researcher and critic Thirza Wakefield.
  • New commentary with actor and film historian Jonathan Rigby, author of English Gothic, and Kevin Lyons, editor of the Encyclopaedia of Fantastic Film and Television website.
  • I Am Not Ashamed: Film historian Lucy Bolton takes an unvarnished look at Barbara Payton, her body of work and her riches-to-rags story of Hollywood excess in an unenlightened and censorious age.
  • In the Sticks Sci-Fi!: William Fowler and Vic Pratt, creators/curators of the bfi’s ongoing Flipside series, discuss and deconstruct this key example of Hammer’s science-horror output.
  • Things to Come: Film historian and writer Neil Sinyard examines Four Sided Triangle, its stars, direction and problematic sexual politics.
  • An extensive image gallery, including behind-the-scenes images, alongside tracks from Malcolm Arnold’s score.
The booklet features:

  • New article by writer and actor Bruce G. Hallenbeck, examining the making of Four Sided Triangle.
  • New article by novelist and screenwriter Gavin Collinson, examining the source for this Frankenstein-inspired story and its many adjacent films.
  • New article by author and film expert Neil Sinyard, comparing the screenplay against noted sci-fi author William F. Temple’s source novel.
  • An archive interview with Len Harris, Hammer’s stalwart camera operator and a key presence at Hammer for over a decade.
  • A new in-depth examination of the attempts at remaking Four Sided Triangle in the 1990s (including reproduction production paperwork from the Hammer archive).
  • Reproductions of the UK and US Pressbooks.
  • A double-sided poster.
The features, packaging and specification on this page are not final and are subject to change.

the only reason I know of this is because I have a book on all Hammer films
disappointed it's not something I want

Kronos was worth it for what we got, but it had me worried that all releases would try to justify being that price. Price is actually very reasonable, and £5 less than I was expecting if the book is as thick as it appears.

Another beautiful set from Hammer. Too bad the movie is a stinker. Hopefully they can do one of their better pictures next.

The next Hammer Films Collector's Edition release is Shatter

You need to bear in my mind that Hammer Films UK only has the rights to some Hammer Horror Films in regards to Physical Media releases
It's possible but not yet confirmed they might do a collaboration with StudioCanal or one of the other UK distributors on some releases that have the rights to lot of hammer horror films in the UK

A lot of the main hammer horror films the rights are with various distributor labels
Warner
Universal
StudioCanal
Columbia (Sony)
Icon Films
Kaleidoscope Film Distribution

The rights that hammer films UK have is what Network Releasing had the rights to before previously closing down
Network originally setup the new compamy Hammer Studios with Hammer Films before network closed down , when John Gore purchased Hammer Films it included the new company set up known as Hammer Studios
Example these hammer horror films was planned for 4K restoration and release on Blu-ray by Network but got halted due to the company closing down
Quatermass Xperiment
Quatermass 2
Abominable Snowman

A lot of the releases will not be the horror films but other film genre that hammer produced
For example TV series releases like Dick Barton as they are working on doing a release

So pretty much what the Ronin released on laserdisc in the mid 90's so any Ronin discs i have will or should get a 4k release.... Having said that i was never able to get the roan laserdisc of Spaceways 1953. Never came across a copy. Also there is one anomaly...... The Abominable Snowman was mastered from a 35mm print yet any blu-rays of it have a few sequences which are upscaled SD as those elements don't exist in HD yet Roan had a master 35mm print. Where did it go. They also did The Satanic Rites of Dracula and Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires. Did Warner get the full rights to them post 90's?
